  • Need some help with CV's!

I'm pretty new to the game in general, and doubly so to trying to get a CV. i just got the CV starter pack, thinking that would make things easier, but then i realized I still haveno clue what im doing.

If im supposed to be leveling sailors up to be fighters and TB and such, how do i grind from 12-50 with no gunners?

any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

You should have some "yellow" gunners as your first account crew right? level those up.

I highly recommend you read up on the forums about each nation's abilities, sailor trees, ship trees, sailor abilities and so on before moving on. You can very easily throw your money down the drain because of lack of info. This game can be fun but theres quite a learning curve.

I went KM BB with the first guys i got, trying to start a new line in USN for my CV. i just dont grasp the whole having to wait till 50 before i can use a plane, but somehow i need to get to 50 using fighters and bombers as gunners on DD and CL?

actually, a nice easy way to ease yourself into CV'ing is to go the IJN route.
Get 4 bomber pilots, 4 fighter pilots and a BO
level them to spec forces (spec forces can use guns)

go the CV route for IJN (the Akitsukki line) when you get to level 38, you can remodel the Agano into the Oyodo (basically the only CL that can use fighters and dive-bombers). Use this to practice CV play. When you get to level 50, buy a Mogami and remodel it to the Mogami 1944, this is a CA that can use bombers and fighters. stay in this till either the Junyo or Ryujo (Hosho isn't worth it as you can level more crew using the Oyodo or Mogami and you aren't taking up a CV slot), just be aware that remodelling the ships does cost credits!

Keep your pilots at spec-forces untill the fighters rach fighter level, or the bombers reach the bomber level required (33 to TB's and 45 for DBs) , then class them as per their function, when they are classed, use them as intended on the Oyodo or Mogami till you hit the first 'proper' CV's

There were/are some good guides floating around for CV basics, some people will also be happy to show you the basics if you ask.

You can do this on every line, just that you'll be cycling crew to level them/use as gunners till your BO hits level 50.

i generally don't like the starter pack especially the BB and CV, they don't give the necessary numbers of supports/pilots for the starters...

this is the easy way i know how to level your crew... but would take alot of rotations...

power level your BO by nationalizing it to US and not choosing class... your pilots need to be classed though...

since you've gone KM BB, I pressume that you got aa gunners(most important on a km bb player), get an emden use your aa gunners and your km BO, and mount your pilots and the sailor that your powerleveling on the emden vacant slot

DON'T powerlevel, it is not the way to learn the game or build good crew.

very few things learn you how to play cv before you got one,
power lvling trough KM AA will at least teach him how important it will be to lower his planes.
