  • New guy's thoughts

I've played now NF for almost 3 months and have been reading the forum and been creating my impression about this game.

CV's have become auxiliary ships. Their only job is to provide sight for BB's and absolutely nothing else. Go bombing = BB's instantly start to complain about sight.

BB fighting has turned to this = Everyone has same weapons. Don't use the same weapon as others = You get destroyed before enemy is in range or can't hit the target. Same with the crew, everyone has the same crew. And if you don't do these weird tricks like "sling shotting" you are doomed.

FF's, DD's, CL's and CA's are supposed to sit in Blitz dodging torps or be AA'ing in GB. Or spot subs. My impression is that you need to reach BB3 or so to even start considering long-range cannon battle. And all AA ships are supposed to have the same weapons (difference between nations of course, same with BB's)

And game has only 2 game modes available for everyone, instead of the 7. GB and Blitz.

So = Navyfield is game where your only option is for first year to dodge torps, shootdown planes or suicide planes in low-level CV.

You my friend are...nvm. Well it does have 2 game mode because SDE refuse to make all game mode same exp or cut back on EXP in gbs. You think a FF/DD/CL should have BB cannons? And it takes about 2-3 weeks before you get a BB3, even if your playing 4-5hrs a day due to the shared exp.

Tell me what other ''weapons'' you think a BB should have? Rockets? BBs can useTorps,HHs,Smoke and main guns, Seems like more than enough. Sling Shot isn't a weapon its a minor skill that bbs use.

My impression on NF 2006-2007, 2009-Until. In 2006 alot of you guys would of quit, but would have alot more skill. There were no game modes. Now Its just get in gb get free exp and get in a bigger ship but never learn the craft. Personally i like playing NF but the lack of skill makes it boring for me. 250k use to be godly 5yrs ago. Now i get it in a bad game. NF can be fun but its up to you bro..I personally just trash talk and love seeing fools rage quit or send tickets and cry like 5yr olds.

With the same weapons I mean everyone use the same GUN, everyone in same nation is equipping the same guns what is considered as the best. If you don't get the same equipment, you will sink becouse you either don't have range or accuracy.

And I am not saying FF/DD/CL/CA should have guns that can match BB's guns, but when you are driving one, you don't have much chances of fighting battle with guns only. Blitz is initially just dodging torpedo spam and then finishing off/hunting down any survivors. In GB if you move from BB line, you get sunk instantly by 1 enemy BB salvo. So in GB you learn only AA initially if you try to actually learn something instead of gathering free exp. Blitz is basically hoping you don't crash straight into torpedoes or getting wiped out by 3 hostiles.

But again, these are my opinions and the image I have created about this game.

Well like most things you do in RL and other games..Can't start at the top gotta build your way up. I've never really played any other strategy games,But i know you start at lvl 1 and you are no competition for higher guys..You can easily put Heghogs on your DD/CL and be effective enough killin Subs,FF,DD,CL,CA,CVs. Once played correctly.

1 - Learning how to AA is also a skill.
2 - Learning how to dodge torps is also a skill.
3 - There are little to no secondary viable gunsets. A Yamato with Nagato guns is nonsensical and a Nagato with Ise guns is barely any better.
4 - In theory you should initially learn how to play BB by watching high level players in GB while driving your CA, BB1-2 (in theory because often the people who should be experienced are... pretty much dumb).

Also the experience gain Is far better now than several years before. I remember slowly grinding to lvl 26 in getting 100 exp per battle.
After that i quit and returned when nelly started and leveling was easier by FAR.

1. about cv

its position in this game is for support (just because of the game setting : dark). cv should be a weapon by providing long range attack and its fighters are used for preventing bombers but this game failed to do that .

2. about the other ships except bb

they should do as aa ship to stop bombers attack (not make blind to enemy), killing subs and shooting torps (what thing sunk bismarck?) but  bbs here have very concerntrated fire that makes small ships not easy to survive on gb. But there is a problem, if we loose the spread on bbs, they will die very easy infront of small ships. i know u want more different ships on GB to play their role, however this situation is very hard to balance.

That's exactly how I started a few months back.  the Yubari and Emden make great ASW platforms and since i wanted to go into subs; I learned about subs by hunting them in GB.  Lots of fun, good exp and occasionally folks do notice when you bag several subs who got too close.  It made me a better sub driver (still long way to go there) but learning AA or ASW is a good place to start.  Using blitz to learn manual (still can't quite get that unless I'm in my Mogami) is also a good thing.  Learned Recon there too.  Went into CVs because I got an Oyodo and that's where I've spent most of my time since.  There are different tracks and different ways to play; just find one you enjoy and are even mildly good at and it won't matter about the BB salvos because you can jump right back into another battle usually in minutes.  Good luck ingame

that's why lj and the rest wanted the fighter vision to be nerfed. however, people kept on nerdraging.
