Exactly, never seen a forum with so many locked threads (not even including the ones that they just delete), just let us discuss things even if that is how _____ aspects of this game are. If they are not discussed things wont be improved.

And yes this thread will be deleted and nothing will improve, in game or to make this forum used more or perhaps better. Oh and there's no point sending me a pm as a) you never bother and b) I have most forum mods blocked.

     Passive aggressive threads like these are NOT contributing to helping the game community. The reason why many of the threads are locked or remove is simply because people cannot seem to get along and have to resort to personal attack and flaming. We try our best to keep threads on topic, but there are just times (about 75% of the time) when things just comes down to personal attacks/vendatta and they completely de-rail the thread.

   Let me ask you this Kilaenots: Does withdrawing from the community and resorting to ad homien attacks do anything to improve the game? I personally don't think so, but there are always going to be people that feel that it is the easiest way to make their point.

    Ultimately, the choice is yours. Would you continue to post ad homien threads like these and watch them be deleted and thus continue the cycle of your self-fulfilling prophecy? Or would you rather create a thread addressing ways the FMs and language filter could be improved/changed?

And nowhere did I say this was a good or helpful thread, but many that are helpful of informative are binned. This thread should be binned as it shouldn't even be a point of discussion. I am 99% sure the issue is the rules for the forum which are being upheld not the actual forum mods. FOr starters the idea that other games can't be mentioned, does anyone actually think that make a blind bit of difference? People play other games allowing them to compare them with NF would help, incorporating good bits from other games would help, GM/TNF/players knowing the other games and how they work would help. Its like sitting in a dark room not being able to mention the room next door dispite the fact they have lights and windows, which you've never heard of. Human nature is to advance itself, unfortunately NF doesn't want to.

This thread has lasted hours longer than I thought it would, I just got sick of the more interesting threads with perhaps heated but definately interesting discusions about the game or how it is run being locked or deleted. Not to mention the ultimate of a forum mod stating his opinion then locking the thread, that happens all too often.

As for the laguage filter, you have to be over 18 to play and it would give TNF 1 less thing to worry about and let them get on with more important task. Quite frankly it is a no brainer if you were to ask me.

I was actually typing out a 2nd response but my chrome crashed and I lost the paragraphs I typed out -_-. In short, yes this thread will be removed, but we seem to be having a constructive discussion and I don't see the need to have it removed yet. 

However, I want to make it a point that I fufill my job to reach out to people such as you as part of TNF/FM. I want to do my due dilligence to make sure I address players concern within the community and whether or not you feel that I am being disdisingenuous, that is your perogative.

There will always be a need for FMs as long as post such as these exist. It is the nature of human beings on the internet to embrace a Hobbesian model. The annoynomity of sitting behind the computer gives us the to power to get away with things we usually cannot. I am not for total censorship, but I am not ready for a hobbesian model either. There needs to be the right balance of moderation and freedom for this community to grow.

Kilaenots, you have the freedom to choose if you want to be on the forums. If you feel that FMs are not necessary and are an impediment to this community, then perhaps this forum is not right for you. Of course if you expect that the players can self-moderate themselves and that FMs are not necessary, then please send a ticket to the GMs explaining your rationale. However, from what you have said about blocking communications of the mods and calling us useless, I get the feeling that passive aggressive ad homien attacks is just an easy way out.

True, we have binned a little too many threads, but then again, what is the point of cleaning threads up if people are just going to reignite the flame? This is not to justify that we as FMs should continue binning threads, but we definitely could spend a bit more time cleaning threads up. With that said, there are threads that desered to be binned and those that do not. We reserve all rights to determine that and if you feel that a thread is binned without a good reason, please send in a ticket so we can open a case for restoring the thread. Once again, this will require people to interact with us, not just withdraw themselves from the community. 

Regarding the issue of other game names, this is something that we can have a constructive dialgoue about. Bring up the issue as part of the examination of forum rules, not as an attack directed at us so called "Nazi FMs". Our job as FMs is to enforce the forum rules, not act as a pain in the butt towards the player base.

When you mean "heated" discussions and "spirited" insights, I can only assume the threads where there are dramas and flaming going on. Sure it is exciting, but do what purpose do they serve? Embitter players? Create hostile players? Create tension in the server? I am not saying that there should not be a heaty discussion, but there is a fine line between an all out grudge match and a sharp disagreement about SS, BB or CVs in the game.

I am going to loop this one with the other games one. If you want to bring this up in a manner that is constructive, I don't see why it cannot be allowed in the fourms. 




Kilaenots, I cannot stress the importance of engagement with the community and the moderators. If you really think that we are a lost cause, then there really is nothing else I can do or say to try and get your feedback. I have done my due dilligence and extended my hand in an offer to help address your concerns. Whether or not you accept it, that is your choice. I want the community to know that we will work with them and that we are not trying to enforce some sort of dictatorial control.
