Make it so that all BBs and CVs come preconfigured with 0.2 belt when you buy them. 

I find that new players onaware of the 50% torpedo reduction you get from putting 0.2 belt a mayor disadvantage and causes disbalance in shared exp. rooms.

Make it fair for all players.

 

A good start would be to first do some sprite changes so people could see what each armor does and a suggestion/hint for each type.

I think that on top of this players need to be aware that 0.2 belt helps, otherwise they would take it off. Maybe a little tab with "BB setup hints and tips" when you buy a BB.

And of course, adding these tips into the SY BB mission. 

I like the idea of levelling the playing field, but not quite sure the execution on its own would work. The belt armour costs would also need to be added into the ship costs too.

It's like saying cheating is fun, thus they should allow cheating.


At the very least, there should be a warning stating that 0.2 belt will reduce torpedo damage down to 50%.

If possible it should be so that no player should be able to put less then 0.2 belt so that things like SS torpedos and TBs could be balanced accordingly.

Seeing BB6s without 0.2 belt is ridiculous.

I have a better idea.
emove the huge torp protection granted by a measely 0.2" belt and halve sub torpedo damage.

Not only subs remain OP but Kitas and TBs may get to do some "gasp" damage!

I agree with lj. If they aren't aware of what 0.2 belt do, they will most likely take it off when they bulge their ships.

There are too many smaller details in this game, like the 0.2 halving torp damage as just one of many examples, that you cannot possibly learn without someone else who already knows telling you. For many new players this is obviously a problem. For many others it makes subs and kitas seem even more overpowered, when really it's exactly half as strong. At least, offensively. I would like to see more detailed information about armour when you're at the screen, such as a slight discription of how it operates. Many players have no idea how deck armour actually works especially. Things like that. 

Either way, agree that something should at least be mentioned about the 0.2 belt effects in-game. I'd be less concerned with BBs as much as say CLs/CAs, as they're the ones most fragile to torps. Especially in the torp-heavy BK games.
