Hey guys,

There seems to be quite a bit of speculation regarding the future of our beloved Navy Field due to recent news of NF2's progress. I hope we can lay such negative rumors to rest as our team is dedicated on supporting NFNA for as long as there are players wishing to play on our servers. 

With this in mind, its best that we cheer up a bit and enjoy playing the Navy Field that we love instead of predicting doomsday scenarios. With your continued support we can continue improving Navy Field and make it a true classic.

The following are a few responses to recent issues and concerns:

Issue 1: Regarding Harbor Assault renovation

Response: Last time we touched base on this we noted that the priority of this project was not as high as others.  Currently, this remains the same. This is not to say that no work is being made, it has just been quite a bit slow as we've been allocating resources to other NFNA projects. When a significant milestone is reached we will provide notification.


Issue 2: Regarding Windows 7 fixes and improvements

Response: Currently this is one of the primary projects for our dev team. While progress is being made, there have been a few setbacks involving technical issues that have been a bit tough to fully resolve.

In specific, we have been able to minimize the use of memory (one of our client's largest faults), but there remains a pesky crash bug that our devs wish to resolve before releasing the update. We will be patching fixes as they become available on the test server in the upcoming weeks.

Issue 3: Will we see a return of the in-game Olive Trade system?

Response:
  As we noted previously, there were a number of potential abuse related issues that posed a challenge in overcoming with a new more secure system. At this time we are still deliberating on how to proceed. A new system is about ready for deployment, but we have to consider the possible pros and cons.
 
Issue 4: Would it be possible to create a Fleet Bank for Olives?

Response: We don't believe this would be possible at this time.
 
Issue 5: Any plans to work on the Movemember function bugs?

Response: 
Our developers are not well aware of the specific sorts of bugs encountered with the commands. It would be helpful to us if players could send in reports about the sorts of bugs experienced.
 
Issue 6: Are there any new maps planned or permissions to allow use of maps in other areas?

Response: Recently Hobbit War became available for use within Normal rooms.
There are no plans to introduce new maps because we all know every map cannot beat NWO with our current system. We may however be open to considering a community map editor. 

Issue 7: What are your thoughts on making EBBs/ECVs trade-able either for Olives or Credits?

Response:
 We don't believe the current policy should be changed in this regard. Event ships should remain as items earned through special events.
 
Issue 8: Any plans regarding OP Convoy?

Response:
Actually we are preparing a new game mode. Once we completely finish this new game mode, we may rebuild the current OP Convoy. However, this will remain a "for fun" sort of room.
 
Issue 9: Have the Fleet War times been decided?

Response:
After reviewing the feedback received, we will be looking to begin battles at 9AM PST on Sundays in order to avoid HA related conflicts if possible.
 
Issue 10: Is there news about NF2?

Response: 
NF2 is currently being treated completely separate from NFNA. In this regard, our specific team is only focused on NFNA and thus are unable to provide comments on specific plans or rumors regarding NF2. However, if any important or applicable NF2 details do come up, we will gladly share the information to our players.

Issue 11: Are there plans to close NFNA now that Nexon has involvement with NF2?

Response:
Our current NFNA team of GMs and devs will continue working on NFNA independently regardless of the outcome of NF2's launch.

We have a close-knit group of supporters who continue having fun playing NF with their friends. For these players, we hope to continue providing NFNA for as long as possible. We would not still be working on future projects, fixes, and events if there were plans to shut down our servers. To put it simply, there is no decommission planned for us.

Randy,  thanks for the update first and foremost but....

you guys should really be discussing the situation with the servers, well kaiser to be precise.

have you even been on and seen it? you guys are dedicated as long as there are players? how many people do you think are quitting everyday because of SDEs incompetance?

Randy you said " when the pros outweigh the cons SDE will reconsider"

if that isnt the case now then whoever is in charge or makes the decisions needs to take a good hardlook at themselves.

you give kaiser silly exp bonus?? why when we can hardly play its pointless.

TY for the update, but why the flash drive? That isn't even worth one fourth of how many olives that you can choose to receive instead. They sell them anywhere from $7 to $13. But 1,500 olives is $75 worth of olives.

I wish I could say more on this, but I cannot at this time. Just know that we are aware of the server conditions and discussions are ongoing regarding how best to improve those conditions. All viable options are being considered. This is all I can say at the moment.

Can't wait for the one where Lukas' ship starts trapped by icebergs and the sub players and single pilot cvs get to bomb the crap out of him ;)
