  • Our Appologies

    09. 08. 2012 17:19

Darkfrost

This message comes from the Council of The Guardians Fleet command.

Towards all other fleet officers and leaders.

We would like to appologize for all disrespect towards your fleets the come from our members. We're totaly against this and we're in the process of cracking down on those who are responsible. Our leadership has had complaints from our staff and people from other fleets about our members showing disrespect towards the Navyfield Community. This is totaly unacceptable in TNF's eyes and the TGF council's eyes. Our council is not running the fleet to babysit our fleet members. We're here to lead a fun and friendly fleet to help players get better at Navyfield, not to harass other players. It goes against everything we stand for.

If any of our members show disrespect towards your fleet other anyone else, please get a screenshot of it and send to Darkfrost, JJWS, Isoret or Cabal90 and we will take care of it.

If it's a racist or sexist remark or any other comments that are extremely wrong, send it to us and as a ticket to TNF, if the player is not banned from Navyfield, we'll remove them from the fleet.

Thanks for your time.

"Our council is not running the fleet to babysit our fleet members."

So stop babysitting with threads like this one.

You really think your leadership can control what is said to whom?  You have to be kidding.  How do you define disrespect?  If I don't like your shoes because I don't like the color blue and I tell you I don't like them is that disrespecting you?

PS.  Apologies has one "P"

I have nothing but respect for a fleet leader that can apoligize for something that happened, shows poise and respect to the community to admit something was done wrong and something was going to be done to correct the issue

kudos dark :)

First, the assumption that you have control over the conduct of the players you recruit is completly insane.  "Cracking down on those responsible?"  Is that why you are a fleet leader?  To crack down on this person or that?  Is your fleet council your own private TNF?

Secondly, a public apology to everyone is completely out of bounds.  This should have been handled with private messages.  All this does is generate a bunch of DRAMA for thier fleet and every time you see a player in-game flying their fleet flag you know you will be wondering if that person is one of the players responsible.  So now the fleet/players will be forced to defend thier fleet against a wave of accusations and that will distract from their enjoyment of the game.

You think you got respect?

You just aired your dirty laundry and got a public relations nightmare.

The other point is this is directed at "other fleet officers and leaders" are you not apologising to the majority of the player base, or are the morlocks not worthy of your apology?

of course thats a part of being a fleet leader, when people sign up with your fleet they are expected to behave in a way that doesnt make your fleet look bad (i think most fleets actually have such things in their application demands).
So if they behave out of tone, and make the fleet look bad it's a duty of the staff to act towards it.

i rather see a fleetleader ban a member and apologise, rather than that the FL would say, go ahead, write a ticket. because that means that the fleet actually acts toward good values, rather than showing low standards by doing nothing at all.

and its probably posted in the forum, because its likely that others have been offended, who haven't reported it to TNF/FL.

+1 to dark

Example:  You have a bedwetting problem.  Your mother takes your urine soaked sheet and hangs it out your bedroom window to shame you into not wetting your bed.  *not making this up I saw it in a movie.

Your argument is, of course, that is part of being a mom.

no, because someone with a bedwetting problem doesnt have a choice in his wrongdoing
(at least so i hope :p )

but someone who signs up with a fleet accepts both the rights & the duty's of being in the fleet. outstanding behavour & not running around insulting beyond any proportions would be seen as part of the duty's.

if you know you wont be able to behave one shouldnt sign up for a fleet, since fleets expects a respectfull attitude from all of its members.

it's more like making someone write 100 lines on a schoolboard for doing something wrong, it sets and example and puts the person in a (negative) spotlight, which is part of the punishment.
