No real way around the ship order but
for the crane, if your ships are either first or last, you can hit page up/ page down to bypass the animation and
go back to arming your ship. I sometimes place ammo in the gun while the animation is going on. These are
nothing but bandage solutions which are better than nothing.

I have to agree with both your points. I'll recommend this.

Do a search (if not the old forum then ask someone) before suggesting something that already exists.

if youre ship is the first in line, hitting page down cuts the animation, same as the last position and page up. otherwise hit page up then page down

you can sort your ships by putting them in the HQ and pulling them out in the order you want. Cant be done with prem/event ships so purchase them wisely.

Ships stay in the position they were bought so selling first in line ships will leave a "hole" that newly bought ships will fill first.

As far as the crane goes. Load your ammo while the animation take place. Bet you can't load the shells, then click on the next slot and be ready to install the gun before the crane animation ends.

i know all about the "short-cuts" to shorten the time to do these things. the thing is that most people if not everyone doesn't want the animation or is annoyed by the arrangement of the ships. let us play without having to "cheat" or do these short cuts all the time for something that could be easily changed for our convenience.
