It is easier for few people to change than for the whole mass.

It was the outcome that affected less players and it wasn't really imposed since most players in Enterprise started setteling in area 12 on their own. 

After the merge it was decided to keep area 12, because most people are already playing there in Enterprise Server and it is easier to control the few people that jump to area 7.

6 years of using area 12 is a bit of an exaggeration* as area 7 was the primary area for battles awhile ago.

Nebraska was generally considered the primary server and Kaiser as the secondary so it does make sense to follow Nebraska's battle area with that respect and also for ease in moving to trade areas.

If roles were reversed and Nebraska players were forced to move to 7 then someone would surely be complaining in the same manner as you are.

They could hardly make both sides happy with this respect without obvious issues of seperation. 

One side had to give. It's not exactly a big issue.

Does it really matter?

Six years of using Area 12.

Old Arizona moved their games there from Area 7 in December of 2006.  Some will recall why.

Missouri did not move their games, staying instead in Area 7.  New server additions played in Area 7 as well.

Nebraska (possibly Arizona) had the default area set to Area 12, I just don't know when that began.

So I guess it was an exaggeration.  Barely.

My mistake then. 

Personally it just didn't feel like it was 6 years. You did your research on it so I stand corrected.
