  • test mission first shot crash (added crash logs 3-12-13)

    11. 20. 2012 09:05

flaggelant

yo,

The testmission crashes on the first shot a lot (like 50-75 % of all tries), so does the sink cl fleet mission.

if you guys want to see why people crash at the start of battle, you might want to start here, because there is 1 person in the room and still crashing.

i thought this would be in here somewhere allready, but search didn't give any results.

i was in area 11,  running an H39, no AA, HH on front T slots.
but it happens with pretty much any bb i bring there.

Confirmed.

For me it started months ago. Clicking ready, moving the turrets, firing the first salvo, back to desktop.

Never happen in any other shipclass than BB to me.

samer here, also approx 75% of the time.  Enter the room, raise the guns, fire a shot, crash just before the shells land.  Nearly every time and this started happening to me a few weeks ago.  Hard to get any testing done when the room crashes every time.

Please do not nercro old threads. Make your own.

In reply. Tested version 1.382 (Updated patch by patch since 1.374), Tested with 13 different BBs, all 4 original nation PCAs, all 4 original nation PCLs.

Test: 2 shots. Maximum Velocity Firing Mode. Spacebar was held down for maximum firing rate. Guns fired Maximum Angle, Northward from Northwest most starting position. Escape was pressed When 2nd salvo landed, Enter was pressed 1 second after Escape.

0 Crashes in Test mission and CL mission (1 test per each ship, per gamemode possible.)

I then repeated  this test on another computer. (Updated patch by patch since patch 1.112)

Then repeated again on a entirely different computer with the 1.382 full installer fresh download/install.

Still 0 Crashes.

Thus in conclusion, I find no current crash bug in the Test/CL missions.

Sure, and then get yelled at for making one instead of searching for an existing thread.  I think not.

Anyway, I crash nearly every time no matter where I start, where I shoot, what I shoot, or how I shoot.  And on two different computers on two different internet connections, in two different cities.

i've had this for years now i think, still happens to me nowadays.

i switched to destroy cl fleet for testing guidelines, since it will only crash me 50% of the times....

It happens with every single BB tier & nation type i've played so far. small addition, i usually manouvre into a vertical position, so i can get a horizontal shot off. but that doesnt really make a difference for the amount of crashes to my experience.

i think this would be one of the easiest things to investigate, since there is only 1 person in the room, solving it would probably cut the amount of crashes at the start of battle in half, if the reason for this would be found & solved.

No, it is proper forum usage to not hijack support or help me threads.

It is proper forum usage to not make multiple threads for the same suggestions of changes.

There is different guidelines for different types of threads.

Unless you want to change how 90% of forums work anyway.

However, this issue is completely inconsistant, as it does not effect even a majority of the playerbase. It only appears to effect 1 in 10 at best on a bad day. Its not as widespread is it appears to those who have the issue.

Matter of fact, I can't even reproduce this.

Try posting the Event Log for when NF crashes after test firing and we'll see if its any internal error to the game code or some kind of conflict.

ok, i was getting back to correcting guidelines on a new BB and the testmissions were crashing me again...
now i got really tired of it and started looking at/for the log file;

i'm not sure i picked the right parts of it (not sure if the "===" are the start?)

below are 2 crashes in test missions (both played within 5 minutes after eachother)

i'm no computer expert, but the ##NoData## pops up over the entire log, it seems to repeat itself in the 2 reports below in exact the same order/amount, not sure if that's a good thing?

and then there's 2 time the identical error;

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION

Fault address:  10054EF0 01:00053EF0 C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\Main.dll

any clue whats the cause of this? it still makes me crash 4 out of 5 times in testmissions
(since it's an acces violation i might allready add that i do play in admin mode)
