The 110s vs 100s:
-more range
-lower hangtime
-better AP (its almost godlike at 40degrees) ~12inch UK deck, so even QV cant bounce
-less dmg .. the 110s are ~48k while the 100s ~74k
Its mostly a question of playstyle.
The 100s are awesome rush guns and good for running and bad at pushing/linefight
The 110s are good at pushing/linefight good for running, medium for rushing
Except I have yet to see a QV bounce the 100 guns HE @ max range. So the better AP advantage is negated by the 100s not even needing to switch to AP if they hold max range. A QV would need to drop recruits off sailors to weigh less enough (Off scout/BO) to armor enough to bounce the Montana's Max lvl 100 gun HE armor penetration.
Best I've seen is being bounced @ 43. Yet to see less than 400s on my shells hitting QVs @ 44 or 45.
Honestly I believe the 100s work better for line fighting, sure you can't normally engage, however, if they make the slightest mistake, you can cripple or sink them in one salvo. Making it great for defense, even against BB6s in an HA, people will tend to not want to push hard against a good Montana with 100s playing good defense.
Montana can easily get 300-400k, even offensively in a HA, where BB6s are dominate.
Its a matter of knowing the weaknesses and strenghts of you and your opponents, and capitalizing on them...
Also damage wise you have to look at it this way:
100s: 68-74k over 12 shells (5667-6167 per shell)
110s: ~48-52k over 8 shells (6000-6500 per shell)
The 110s trend to block, while the 100s trend to have decent spread (Not bad, but not very tight.)
