I kinda have a stupid question... I want to level a set of CV crew (say 6 pilots and 1 BO). I realize that once I get to level 25, I can class them as Rookie Pilot. But the problem is, once I class them, they won't be able to use any guns, but they can't fly anything but scout planes. So how do I play to a CV once I am above 25?

I am just starting this game fresh, so leveling these pilots on a BB or SS is out of the question.

you either get gunners or spam mines from your scouts. i suggest the first one

Toss them on a AA Ship,preferably a PCA.

Also here's a little hint,you can keep your pilots classed as special forces until the level which they can get their planes,AKA Lvl 40 for all nation fighters or lvl 45/56/48/50 for IJN/KM/SN/MN DB's for example,aircraft ability means nothing for fighters and bombers,crew growth is the same,and you level them faster.

dang i wish i thought of that >.<

Anyways i went with the rookie pilots with gunners route. Its not a bad idea if you plan on getting gunners for A//HH on your cv later and you dont want to buy a pair. Also, the grind from lvl20-40 frankly isnt that much. I did it in about a day in blitz

haha that means I could probably get to level 45 for this upcoming event in say... 3 days, but given 30 days to do it?

And good idea on leaving them as special forces. I thought classing them as pilot also affects their ftr and bomber stats, but apparently not.

Aircraft affects the sight range of planes, at least dats wat i saw in the manual. Giving a lil sight range boost doesnt hurt, but im just sayin.

Don't trust the manual,SDE doesn't even know how their own game works...

Nevermind, listen to this guy instead lol. Strange, i wonder what happen to this game when i was gone for not playing it for two years....

Well anyways, it kinda make sense to leave em as special forces so that they can still operate guns and torps till they reach the lvl to promote em to fighter and bomber.

once fp or etc keep eye on lvl and ship they are on always stay within 8 lvls to max out the exp u gain.
