the fact is, 3x14.96"L has slightly less range than 2x14.96"L
having bigger gun slot spaces doesn't really mean something
sure, you can put the 2x14.96"L on Opro2, then they will have the same range

btw from your point of view Gneisenau and O-Pro1 are as good as BSM/O-pro2 because they all can mout the 11inch L trips. 

Let's not start with this philosophical discussion...

Use the intended gunset, if you want to use the dual in order to troll or have fun be my guest.

If u use 2x14.96"L on O2, u will have much less salvo dmg (6 shells compared to 9 shells) coz u can only fit 3 turrets, unlike Bizzy who has 4.

Trading less guns to gain a little range is bad, worst at KM shell dmg...

Besides the triple has faster reload time than the dual...

Until you try out any guns that give the OProII more range than the Bismarck (and post the screenshot showing your results), your post is not even two cents' worth...

Little hint to save you some time: there aren't any.

I recently tried the Bismarck again... it's kinda weak in GBs.  Reminds me of a Mini H44 that DOESNT take a hit. I even had mine going 43 or 44 knts for a bit before my crew ate too many Müncher bratwursts..

O Pro was always a great ship for getting good attack/xp on larger BB5s if you knew what you were doing in GBs.

Recently I tried AD again..  what a junkbox compared to the pre-nerf RM AD haha.

I hit an L2 with several salvo (front, rear, front rear, front rear) and only had like 30k.. with 20% accuracy... I wanted to cry because  the front salvos were doing something like 6k and it seemed the L2 was still fresh in the green. To give you an idea, old RM AD would 2.5 shot almost anything ... while this KM one needs probably 6 salvos due to spread/damage. If anyone can aim, you're dead in that time.

The damage was so bad I had to go back and check my ammo to see if it was CL shells.. what a disappointment. Such a disappointment not having two BO to use the O Project line... HUGE contrast to say an SN Sevas which seems it will do the 2-3 shot on a BB4/5

The EBB Gneis I wasted money on EU server NF was the biggest let down of all though. Any KM ship using 6 shells ( 3 turret x 2) as alluded to in the original post is the most fail setup I've ever encountered in the game.  Spread is over an entire continent AT lvl, and the damage will NEVER be satisfying.
