  • Freak Teamchatting Bug

In a battle when I try to switch from all chatting to team chatting, I hit enter, type some words and then if I try to use <- key to move curser forward to insert /t command, it's very likely that I'll suddenly crash (not crash to desktop, but the whole screen freezes unless I press CTRL + ALT + Delete). After running into this situation some 7 or 8 times I realize that this is actually a BUG.

Be cautious when you switch between all and team chatting.....

Support ticket? They merely sort it as solved when they read it.....so problem solved = read by mod, according to SDE logic

i get something similar to this....

 

when applying experts to sailors or nuking experts for vets and then join a battle room i crash immediately.

 

since this is CrashField i just deal with the annoyances that this game presents

Old bug, its been around for awhile. For team chat you can press F2 though unless you have /a in front.

iirc the cure is uninstall then run a reg cleaner like CCleaner. then run installer as admin in win98/me compatability mode, after that go to the Navyfield directory (C:\program Files\SDenternet\ ) change the EFUNS updater compat mode to win 98 (EFUNS Updater directory) the NF launcher and Navyfield.exe (in Navyfield directory) also to Win 98 compatability mode and run as admin. if i remember right it has to do with the way certain keys are coded in chat (like backspace) that ask for more permissions than the game has when ran normally.
