  • York,County class

To the game developers and all who care:

I have a question: why in English ship tree York has 189 space for main guns while County has only 146?
York was a lighter version of County class, but they had exactly the same armament: 203mm guns.
In fact, except for the calibre of guns, York was a light cruiser.

Greetings
john

NF =/= RL

Gameplay > RL

Not to sound blunt.

yep agree with ninja,

nf != rl

and there are difference between the 2 ingame

york carries the famous blocking 8" trip
slow
lowest in range vs other ca

county carries HA 8" duals which can do 1k damage at HA
fast
can be made into a tank (AW)
about its range i dont know

bah...nerd...yours is not an answer. Cannot compare History with a funny game which is simply a game.

Thanks phantom3553 for your detailed post. And for the correct form of the inequality. =/= is a non-sense.

Get used to it. This is NF, at the cost of balancing, they are not turning into something overpowered.

Maybe you would understand better if you knew that County has quite abit more of a damage potential then York does. Either way however something you should understand is that the ships in NF are based off of their historical counterparts only. If that isnt something you like or it bothers you that much then this is not the game for you.

Instead of flaming people maybe you should realize that this is a game and NF =/= RL.

because at a certain point in history some time ofter the first world war their was a world law type thing put in place to prevent all countries from having ships with a displacment over a certain amount. that meant all ships weapons and armour needed to be within the maximum allowance so -

county york have similar displacement , how ever the york uses trip 8's where as the county can only fit duel 8's

york has 3 gun points county has 4 the 4 guns are lighter but the more guns make up for the lack of weight in each weapon. where as the yorks trip 8's are much heavier hence why it only has 3..

now you can remodel the york to a cant remember the name of the ship. but it esesentially turns it back into the county with similar gun space and displacement. however the remodel of the york is far smaller and more stream line and i think its a bit faster too.

also the county was a retrofitted cruise liner which was converted into a warship. hence its titanic type apearance.

if you play york do not remodel keep it as a york use trip 8;s and play as if its a battle ship, its an utterly amazeing ship to play. well in blitz anyways!!

I think your on about the Washington Naval treaty. in NF terms they nerfed everything going. York did only have 3 gun turrets, but they were 8" duals, the same guns used on a county. i think they dropped the 4th turret for weight or AA reasons, but im not too sure so don't quote me on it.

The York can be remodelled into the Surrey, which was the second ship in the County class. same thing as the county ingame, but if i remember rightly you cant tank it like the county.

Trip 6" is useable in Blitz, but you'll want to be using the dual 8". Those guns wreck house at high angle.
