Is it windows or your monitor displaying this? It sounds like your monitor doesn't like the fact that Navyfield is lowering the resolution below 1920x1080 and not allowing it to be displayed.

NF can be windowed using Direct 3D Windower (Japanese software, there is a few english versions floating around, the tutorial is in the Old Forum Data somewhere)

Another method is running the game inside a virtual machine. Not quite sure if the XP Mode VM released for Windows 7 works in Windows 8 or not (Microsoft's VM software), but that would be a good start, another popular VM is VMWare, however the setup is a little more complicated, plus you need an legit install disk and license key for the second OS installed in the VM.

A third option would be to use software to "force" the output to your monitor to always be 1920x1080.

Also check to see if your monitor has a way to disable the "Ask for Recommended Resolution" display, better instructions for this can found in your monitors Owner's Manual, the Maker's website, or calling the Maker's customer support helpline.

Does this issue occur in other games that do not run in 1920x1080?

Quenirland

I have the same issue.

- Windows 7 OS

- 1366x768 Pixels

- 10.0" Wide-Screen

I didn't have that issue with

Windows Aptiva

- ?Pixels?

17.0" Wide-Screen

- - - - -

Oh...the 17" Monitor broke...so a bigger Wide-Screen is attached to the Windows Aptiva Computer.

No "Screen Resolution Error" Messages.

And...

Everything is bigger...thus...easier to see.

I love playing NAVYFIELD on that machine.

Still works for me. Did you try starting over again to double check you didn't accidently skip a step?
