I play Navyfield with a media player (Mediamonkey) playing in the background and the Navyfield music muted.
The problem is, if I want to hit pause or next song  I have to ctrl+alt out of Navyfield.
I have media keys along the top of my keyboard for next, pause, etc. and usually they control Mediamonkey fine, but not while Navyfield is running in fullscreen.
I find this odd because the other buttons along the top (screen brightness and volume up/down) work all the time.
I've tried playing with some hotkey mapping tools like Autohotkeys, but to no avail.
Is there a way to make the media keys global so that they work even when a program is in fullscreen?

PS There is an option to make hotkeys global in Mediamonkey, but it doesn't do anything as far as I can see.
