  • True Ability for Torps

I have a Torpman with 120 Vets x 4 = 480
                            and  400 Experts  = 400
                                    (520/520 Sailors)   
                                                   Total 880 

The guides say that they CAP at  850K

Do I have 880 or 880K True Ability?

You need to multiply your 880 (from your sailors) with the displayed torp ability. That'll give you the true ability.

Adabert Formula

True Abilty = (4 times Vets + 1 times Experts)
Times             Total Sailors divided by Total Possible Sailors
Times             Total Current Diplayed Ability? 

So Level 70 IJN Special Kai Torpedoman who is Boosted and has a current
Growth of 40 and a Displayed Ability of 2116
36 Recruits - 402 Experts - 100 Vets - 538 Max Sailors  would be?

          (100 x 4 + 402) = 802
Times  538/538 = 1 or 100% Now 802
Then    802 times 2116 = 1,697,032 True Abilty?

Is this Correct? If so, and if 850K is the Cap for IJN Torpedo Cap
You could kill off Experts, and Recruits like so?

            (100x4 + 302) = 702   (100 Vets - 302 Experts - 1 Recruit)
Times   403/538 = 74.9% - Now - 702 * 74.9% = 526
Then     526 times 2116 = 1,113,016 True Ability? and Still Way Over the 850K 
Torp Reload Cap?

Questions:
1) Is the Math Correct?
2) Is 850K The Correct True Ability Torp Reload Time Length Cap for IJN?
3) How Many Seconds is Time from Firing to Reload when it has hit the Cap?

1. Yes.

2. Cap works for all nations, not just one particular nation.

3. Not sure about this; about 50% from displayed time.

That's why the only reason to vet/expert your torpmen would be to take off as many rookies as you can and thereby save weight.

The torp reload cap is achieved easily. Torpmen with +11 torp and +12 restore (for sub) are ideal.

I am getting a Torp Reload Time of 15 Seconds 
when I have a TRUE Ability of 900K

Please note that Adalberts torpedo ability cap was established with the then available torp launchers.
Unfortunately that didn't include higher lvl subs, who's torpedo cap is more at 1.1 M TA.

1
