Suggested Guns for Nelly and POW

What are the suggested guns for Nelly and POW, and how to they compare in terms of range and blockshots?
I will be using a pair of L2 gunners, so level is not a problem. I just want to level a few low level crew. It's been a while since I played Nelly, when we used to have RP12s.
Also, if someone can start a new post with all the suggested guns for UK BBs, that would be even better.

I preferred the nelly as it has longer range using the 16" trips. But it depends on your playing style. Also the nelly misses out on a scout which can be a big problem. Using the 16" trips on the nelly allows for more armour than the 14" quads but has a worse acc by quite a way. Not sure what it is like with boosted gunners but I have lvl 120 VE no B gunners and its not brilliant but still packs quite a punch. The POW seems to me to be able to hold more armour with the 14" quads but most ppl only use 2 guns. The acc is a lot better but the range is a certain disadvantage. Both ships can be AW if you equip them properly but from someone who has used both, the nelly is the better ship.
And if I remember correctly (as it was a while ago I used either of them) the POW can go faster. This is sacrificed for the armour though. I found the POW takes a lot longer to get used to aswell as if you are using the 14" quads about the only way you can survive is to either rush and hope you get lucky or (this is what I did) predict where the enemy will be sending their planes and avoid those spots. Basically stick to their blinds spots and only rush in when they are fighting with another of your larger BBs.
So I think that the nelly with 16" trips is better than any other set up with the nelly or the POW.

Recommended guns for Nelson are the lvl81 16" Mark II L. They have good firepower, spread is a bit wide, but usable. For high level gunners, they'd be my personal choice.
You can also use the 15" Mark III (N), if you want range. With the 15", you can also put reasonable armour on. Some people like to use the blockshotting Quads on the Nelson, but the Nelly doesn't have the speed to use them as efficiently as the PoW. For the PoW, the Quads are the preferred guns. If you like to play more defensively, the 15" MK III are also a good choice. Last and least there are the new Quad and Dual 14" Ls, which have bad range, firepower and spread. Not recommended.
Rangewise it goes 15"MK III > 16" Mark II L = 14" L >>> Quad Ns (blockshot)

There are no 16" Mark II L's for the Nelson, dj....you must be referencing the 16" Mark I L - lvl80. http://i52.tinypic.com/2kj6na.jpg Just a note: You can go 40 OH using the quad N's. You can go 42 OH using the 16" with no deck armor. You can go 37 OH with 7"+/- deck, which is nothing when going against BB4-5s. Range difference between trip 16" and the 14" Quad N's is ROUGHLY a 1/2 inch.

Aww, damn, mixed them up with the Hoods fun guns. Of course, the lvl 80 Mark I Ls are the correct guns.

Ya, the 16" Mark II doesn't fit on the Nelly. Nelly only has a space of 420, while 16 Mark II starts at 412 for the D's. I am assuming you are refering to the level 80 Mark I. Also, I have never seen anyone suggest the 15" Mk III. GIven the 16" reputation for horrible spread, if the 15" has more range, then it should be a no brainer? Has anyone else try the dual 15" setup and care to share what they think about it?

I have seen the 15" Nelson setup but to be honest, from my observations, it is a rarity when it is used. The two most commonly used Nelson gun setups are the trip 16's and the Quad N's (in GBs).

I seem to have the problem of being able to fit 1x up to 3x quad 14"s on my nelly, but not being able to load ammo afterwards...
Any1 know what the problem here is?

probably your using the L ones, use the N or D
