Most people associate ships and other vehicles and structures as feminine thus calling it "she".

How does it work when you name ships with dude names like king george or graf spee?

I think you've got it wrong. A Warship can have a name such as King George like you mentioned, but it would still be called a she by the crew that man it.

the graf was the only known ship to be called "he" by it's crew, for the kg5, its a "she"
