  • NFEU to NFNA reinstall instructions.

Due to some stange issues that were never ironed out, using both the NFEU and NFNA clients at the same time caused problems with whichever client was installed first as the second client would pressumably overwrite some useful files and render the updater for the other game useless. This meant that anyone wanting to play both versions of the game would have to manually update the version they wanted to play every time they wanted to play it.

NFEU has sadly been closed now, and some NFEU players are starting to transition to NFNA, however due to these same old problems some are not finding this transition smooth. As such I have adapted some old instructions I made in order to instruct players in manually uninstalling both NFNA and NFEU, which will ensure all files are removed, in order to provide a clean slate upon which to install NFNA. This resolves a number of problems.

The instuctions are here, pay particular attention to Step 4;

(Note: This will mean that once you reinstall the game you will have lost any custom sprites/textures and your keybind/sound/graphics options will have been reset to default)

1. Delete the SD EnterNET folder from the installation directory (default C:/Program Files). Literally, just delete that folder. Then, delete the eFusion MMORPG folder.

2. Under the start menu, click run, or in the case of Win7 just type into the search window.

3. Type regedit and press enter, which should run Registry Editor.

4. Before any changes to the registry are made, you might want to back up the registry incase you accidently divide by zero and end the universe. So, at the top, click file, then export. Name the file something you'll remember and save it a place you can find it later. Should you need to restore your registry later, simply double click this file.

5. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section by clicking the little arrow, then expand the SOFTWARE section. (If you are running a 64bit client, you will also need to expand the wow6432node section)

6. Scroll down until you see the SD EnterNET folder, right click and delete it. Search for the eFusion MMORPG folder, delete that too.

7. Close regedit, restart windows.

8. Reinstall NF using the newest Client Download.

I have installed the NFEU client over my NFNA client and can confirm it does cause issues with NFNA. I have also followed my own instructions and can confirm it does solve issues that I have managed to replicate that have been reported here. If you continue to have problems please post them here and perhaps solutions can be found.
