  • Vanguard 1946.. Whats the point

Looking through all the EBBs to pick from, im puzzled as to the point of the vanguard 1946.

Most of the other EBBs have something special about them (more support slots, otherwise unusable guns on that hull etc). With the vanguard apart from more hitpoints i dont see any advantage over the base version, not enough room to fit other guns, no additional support slot (though its still UK so 8).

Reason im asking is im looking for a nice high lvl UK ship to drive and hate both the L1 and L2. But if the Vanguard EBB is just more of the same i suppose ill stick to the base version.

So what if anything am i missing about this ship ?

The guns do more damage than the original.

More damage from guns(maybe better accuracy as well?), and better able to take a hit (higher submergence).

Id say..the vanguard is one of the best RN ebbs so far..but  I take your point..I will put some of the original guns on the stern r slots and compare...

back in the day, players who were constantly sailing with vanguard, were concidered more skillfull than those AW nubs...
do some research to answer the question: why?

Basically this.

Vanguard 1946 has its own set of improved guns and a better hull.
- More damage
- Better accuracy
- Better hull stats.

Could one of the proud owners of the new Vanny 46 pls post the exact name + LHE dmg for their unique gun set, coz the website lists about 4 new ones.

Also appreciate 1st impressions, particularly on any accuracy buffs.

the ebb guns are colored in green, its the  dual 15" /42 cal rp12 SL with 1.3k HE damage

Thx phantom, found them at the top of the list, in green like you said.

However the dmg listed for LHE is identical to the normal Vanny at 1355.

But nyerkovic stated the unique guns do more dmg.

Could someone who owns the ship pls confirm & post the LHE dmg listed on the gun, as I will most likely spend my 2nd EBB coupon on it ONLY if it does more dmg than the regular Vanny (which I already own & enjoy the 30 deg guns).

The actual damage of the guns is not just the He damage. It's He + kinetic part, and the kinetic part depends on many factors, some of them random. So even though the 2 gunsets have same He damage, the actual damage of the EBB guns will still be larger than actual damage of regular guns.
