I think it would be a good idea if seaman also boost aircraft launch times. On BBs as well as on CVs, maybe use the seamans ftr skill to reduce the launch time of dtrs, aiecraft skill ro launch scouts, bmr skill to reduce bmrs. CVs realy need this because planes have so little fuel, by the rime you launch your bmrs your ftrs are almost out of gas to escort them. The other option is to increase the fuel of all aircraft, but I would tather see seaman have more use.
Maybe seaman could also boost aircraft speed/amount of ammo/ deffence/fuel.  I think this would give the players a little more options on how to config thier CVs, rather than cookie cutter nations. The suoprt slots on a cv are extremly valuable. You don't have an unlimited amount of seaman you can pile in there and still be a viable configuration. Alowing players a few different options I thi k is a good thing.

A historical solution to the problem you alluded to would be to launch bombers first, then launch fighters.  That way shorter ranged fighters lose less fuel. Of course, what works in real life might not work in navy field.

There exist in the game code a class for modifing plane load time.

It was called "Ground Crew" and was broken from the start and removed.





Realistically, there is no way to really change load times without breaking it all together.

Even a 0.1 second advantage per plane in the hands of a decent player could wreck 2-3 CVs solo even easier than now just by getting off an extra plane every 64 seconds if they have excellent pilots, seamen and the skill to use them.

I run a Seaman on both my UK and RM CVs.  I cannot ascertain any identifiable advantage it brings, but I have "faith" that there is some trivial amount of fighter/bomber ability added.

It does enhance my SD, repair rate, and even Engineer Overspeed and Overheat. 

I don't see a problem with the launch times or fuel or aircraft speed; but then I run my fighters until they run out of fuel and crash anyway, providing sight and hunting enemy planes.

In fact, after the last patch balancing CVs and fighters, I applaud the testing team that they did a good job.  My UK fighters were weak but can now take down KM and US fighters regularly; my TBs can actually sink a ship now. 

If anything, I believe the Seaman is the rightful owner of the 9th support slot, but increasing launch times is a function of the airplane, not the pilot.

Launch times would not be a function of the pilots, but would-be a function of the ground crew, seaman being the closest thing we have to that. A good or bad ground crew would definitely have an empact on the launch times.
