  • new map / game mode

I suggest creating a new map for GB with double the length and width (making it four times the size of our habitual maps).

Such a map would make players behave more strategically, and scouting / lighting up the map would become very important, as would be the grouping of forces.

I thought of this while watching some youtube videos on the battles of Leyte gulf, where opposing forces had to do quite a bit of guessing in order to find each other.

If the map size is not limited in order to avoid/limit crashing, this would be a fun mode, don't you think?

If Im not mistaken the HA final tile map is bigger than usual GB's so it could be possible, however Im sure it would not work.

 

Games would take far longer and people would earn less exp per hour and no one would play it. Remember we are in the "I want it all, and I want it now generation", its all about rushing, getting a few salvos off and join the next room as fast as possible. There is a reason Hobbit war used to be so popular.

One reflection I have on this suggestion is that it would probably have to coincide with higher ship limits.

As you said it´s a pity. Most players think only in gain EXP points and because GB "gives" the better EXP is the only game mode played, because is the best to rush, sunk and start over.

I like much more to play GB2 or NB, because change the tactics conditions. GB2 particulary boost the team work, something that GB doens´t. 
Also, GB2 has another advantage. EXP is better when your team wins. Again, if all is about grind is better GB and achieve the expectations of EXP chasers/leechers.

Give us another battle style, why not escort where u need to have freighters, or a mode besides an HA to use the landing or para forces. battles in more areas, more ports or map control areas that fleets can defind during regular gb in the area, more fleet vs fleet in another form than it is now. GB and Gb2 is, and has been getting old, in the same box, that doesnt give you time to turn around, befor booted. Thanks for your time hope to see the game grow.

I like the idea a lot, you would see me this room all the time. A larger map, and more space between teams at start would give CVs a chance to get the first strike in before the BBs do. It would make scouting more challenging, and finding enemy CVs to kill right away much more difficult. I ways felt CVs should start the game with a full wave of planes rdy. Many noob BB players rush in and die before thier CVs have a chance to launch planes, putting thier teaam at a disadvantage. 

1
