People are going to know who is in their fleet. And, many fleetmates are in a chat client outside of NF anyway.

Also, who cares if people target you because of the fleet you are in? Bring it on.

Proud to be instant target by CV/BB in my moltke. Nothing is easier to remember who kill all your scout or shot down half of your planes, I like the tag in GB.

I generally go for fleetmates because it'll annoy them and generally because they're a bigger threat to my team lol.

Won't stop me from going for certain players from certain fleets

i`d like to add one more point:

the in battle behaviour is like an advertisement for/against the fleet you represent.

new players should be able to see how the majority of each fleet acts to decide which one will get his app.

not shooting the fleetmates, like certain fleets/players are known for is just lame and stupid.
I prefer to fight my fleetmates because its challenging and helps the team like nitecreeper said.
And there are fleet-tags that look like cross hairs for me. i really enjoy destroying their chance for xp any time i can.
I very much use fleet-tag and nickname information to decide how im going to fight them. There are players that i rush immediately and there are players that i admire for their competence and therefore attack them thoughtfully or even just defend.

I like going after mates.  The only thing more fun than playing WITH my fleeties is playing against them.
