Knowing I would have a much differ result due to location, i ran a ping to the same ip. Admittedly, I live in the US on the east coast and confirmed my suspicion that I would not have any connection problem.

However, I was able to duplicate your long ping times by doing tracert's and direct pings to those servers in HK.

I can only assume the lag spikes could be attributed to trying to access across the pacific during heavy traffic times or if you are running off a wifi or hot spot.

If you are running off a wifi, is it possible to do a straight connection and re-run the test?

Most notably, just by looking at your tracert is the 6th hop and why are you having trouble there as you shouldn't have any trouble till you start hitting the 13 hop.  That can explain the last hops being so heavy as there might be communication issues with going back and forth while dealing with the 6th hop.

Other than that, could be just need to clean the pc and do an ip stack release

btw even after a period of two years without regular maintenance on any pc...could cause system degradation.

when talking about lag there are multiple issues.

sometimes just restarting the computer will help others just do a full system defrag and disk cleanup. if you have any anti virus software run a scan and see if anything pops up.

however, in the best circumstances even if it has always worked...doesn't mean it will always work. Just have to figure out what is causing it and clear it out.
