I think the 8 should be for pilots only. But one support slot is not enough, should be at least four, for one repairman, engy, seaman and a sonarman.

I don't think it would be to much to ask that a CV6 to have 10 pilot slots 0-9 and 4 support slots with 2 hh gunners. That would get ppl out of thier PCVs and give the CV6 its due advantage over a PC5 or PCV it deserves,  much like the BB6 over a BB5.

If we're talking about fairness, I think all CVs should get +2 support slots for their lack of T slots compared with normal ships.

Other ships with no T-slots are similarly compensated (e.g. the Juneau II has two support slots over the Atlanta and Oakland as it has its T slots removed), so why not CVs?

i agree except for the sonarman part.  CVs should not have the use of sonar as their is no basis in any sort of reality in this universe for the loudest warship on the planet to use a sensor that relies on as little own-ship noise as possible.  Trust me, as a RL sonar operator I know just how loud a CV is and I know for a fact that the only thing a CV will ever hear on it's own sonar is it's own self.  When we are escorting CVs, we have to have a ship on either side because it deadens our sensor ability, essentially blinding us with it's presence.  This is a feature that has no place in this game, RL or game aside.  BBs have guns because it makes sense.  CVs carry planes because that makes sense.  SS can dive because that makes sense.  CVs should never have the ability to use sonar because that does NOT make sense!!!!

this is a game not reall life so laws of reall world doesnt count in a game world

I would have to say, its far more realistic to have sonar on a cv, than to take a salvo from a bb in a ss and dive witbout repairing.

I've already addressed this common shout.  Everything has to be based on something.  BBs have guns because BBs in RL had guns.  CVs have planes because CVs in RL had planes.  Etc...  CVs should not have sonar because there is no basis in any form of reality of alternate dimension to suggest that they should, could, or would have sonar.  If CVs in this game can have sonar, why not BBs?  Why let subs be invisible w/o sonar to begin with?  If we are going to arbitrarily decide that the one class of warship least capable of using sonar is going to be able to use it anyway, let's just throw out the need for sonar to begin with.

Lets try and keep this about cvs haveing more support slots. There is already a big thread abought cvs sonar. As it is right now if a cv6 wants to use a engy with his sonar he has to cut pilot's, where a pcv can run a engy as the BO. If he want to run a sonarman hh gunners repairman and a engy, he's down to only 6 pilot slots left. And that's with no seaman, I think a few more support slots are in order.

If you end up needing a repairman in a cv... You're most likely already screwed. And if not then you need to be doing something different to not be getting bombed. Anywho, no they do not need more supports. As it is their primary role is not to be in combat and therefore does not require the use of combat support sailors.

I also believe most of you are completely ignoring a major point. Let's say this gets done (which it won't). What do the current cv6 players do? They will be stuck with an unusable ship until they can either buy more sailors (which not all of them can afford) or grind more, which takes time. Very unfair to them.

+1

a few xtra slots means a few xtra sailors, and you need to fill up your CV6 with same nation sailors.
So that means indeed, you cant use your hard to get ship anymore.

Maybe i agree a few xtra slots for supports, but sure not 4.
Maybe something like 2.
Don't forget its a CV not a BB

But it must be without filling slots.

To make this story short, keep it like the way it is now.
