Torpedoes released from Bombers or from ship-based launchers are 100% effective.  

Only submarines have defective torpedoes in their arsenal.  Torpedoes that will not detonate, well past arming distance and clearly midship between the smoke stacks, but instead it will glide underneath at some mystery depth.

Although you can argue that real world torpedoes did in fact dud and miss targets, the same could be said for TBs and IJN Kitas. 

It's time to remove this unnecessary and artificial restraint.  An accurately fired torpedo should hit and explode where it was aimed.   

Note: This is not about duds due to minimum arming distance.  Those are proper and necessary.

Its not a bad counter for critdive,  like duds there is a chance you wont get hit.  With the different,  duds is a random factor and crit dive is timing.

But both are similar in gameplay.

Duds also make aiming a bit more skillful.

It can be a decisive factor in sub vs. sub combat but also here , aiming get rewarded, calculate endrun precise and you counter the dud.

It also gives a ship(s) the chance to spot the sub before it got sunken.

Of courde Test team say Duds should go....

No problem. Then instead of 16 torpedoes to sink a BB5, it will now take 40.

I'd rather have my torp XP back than get rid of duds.

 

Without that, I don't give two s***s about this game, since I can't level my sub crews doing what's FUN.

This is more urgent than duds.

Leveling 120 SS Crew without EBB or BO shiptree reset is hard.

Since you people hate submarines so much, nerf the repair rate to 10% submerged and 15% on surface, then nerf torps to 12% damage of whatever they are. Increase torp reload time to 5 mins after launch, reduce range by 4/5ths and remove all air charge at start. Reduce current air capacity by 4/5ths and make submarines the worst at everything related to credits and points plus a 9/10ths reduction to experience award gains.

In short, make this game as one sided as possible to remove ANY realistic game play and make submarines hated by even those who take the time to play them.

Praise all who demanded submarines get nerfed and give special attention to the ones responsible for all the latest submarine nerfs, also reward those that whined with BB6's. This will definately get more players to navyfield.

Funny to see 2 packs of RM SS5.5 precisely launched passing through enemy BB and keeping it full hp :D

1
