I saw some drawings on internet years and made one too just for fun.
Had the same problem with bearings and thought it was related to turbine speed.
Never checked the speed, didn´t have appropiate instruments at that time.

Working on some decent nozzle for powering up this.

Question: can you turn the turbine its self into a gererator, instead of powering one off of it becomeing a load and slowing the turbine down a small %. but if you turn the the spinning center into a rotar, by putting small magnets on out edges, and coil alone wall in houseing to become a stater. thus now the turbine is a turbine& generator, and runs with 0 load?

Well, that's the point of a turbine.

And as soon as magnetic field is rotating inside that copper coil, it's no more load free.
