I need to resolve an isue, that i and someone lese are in disagreement. If u know the baseball set up for the main Battel room set up. im useing this as a referance, Im saying, 3rd base is A1, 2nd base is E1, home plate is A5, 1st base is E5, pitchers mound is C3.

The other person is saying 2nd base is A1, 3rd base is A5, 1sr base is E1, home plate is E5.

we need to resolve this isue b4 it sporeads further confusion.

Great position for a comprimise :)
Since most BB diamond are depicted
From above showing home plate center bottom this would make both of your views incorrect. Alpha/Bravo start points considered dugouts. Pitcher mound only constant at center map.

It depends on what harbor your looking at. For KM harbor it goes A1 Home plate. E1 1st base. A5 3rd base. E5 2nd base.

If your looking at NY harbor. Its A1 3rd base. E1 2nd base. E5 1st base. A5 home plate.

So both views are correct, However it depends on what you guys are exactly talking about.

IMO the KM setup is the same for Battle area. But it will differ from fleet to fleet.

navy field does NOT use A1 ... A2 .... B4 .... etc .... they use the AREA #1-25 system

#1 starts at 3rd base and #5 is 2nd base ....  home plate is #21 and 1st base is #25

Official NavyFIELD grid numbering system :

translating that to the Letter/Number system used by some fleets is
... if you keep the same order  ie:)  #1 = A1 ... then .... A1=3rd base  and E1 = 2nd base
(column A is always on the left and row 1 is awlays furthest from harbor = start row)

however - some fleets totally ignore NF's numbering system and use their own ...
since the main battle grid #12 has no harbor to help orientate row 1 .. it can be varied

some use the same orientation as NF (as per the above example)...
others use differnt orientation where 2nd base= A1 ; 1st base= E1 ; 3rd base= A5 ; Home= E5

interesting note .. in a 5x5 grid such as in NF ..
the pitcher mound center is always #13 or C3 in any orentation

so BOTH of you are 1/2 correct and both incorrect ... incorrect in terms of NF own GRID # system

1/2 correct in the arbitary A-E/1-5 system used by fleets ... which sometimes varies by fleet
so ... it depends on how you're orientating your 'top' start row for the main battle grid
( ? are you looking at it with head tipped to left ? or ? skewed by tipping head right ? )

but if you key off the official grid numbering order NF uses ...
then your claim of 3rd= A1 and 2nd = E1 is closer to being 'correct' in its ordering format (USA)
the other person is using a skewed version of the main grid popular in some fleet traditions
it depends on if you are applying USA american harbor orientation or UK english harbor view

and since this is NFNA - (aka the North American Server) :
it is poetic that  the USA harbor view is most correct in alignment with NF grid numbering
... with the first square or Area #1 = A-1 ..... and the last square or Area #25 = E-5 ...
( but then the IJN or MN harbor views could also be appropriate as well in this regard )

* IJN/MN are basically inverted versions of UK and KM/SN/RM are inverted versions of US

** since the main battle grid #12 has no harbor to help orientate row 1 .. it can be varied

FLEET alpha-numeric system :

... THIS .... ( * for english - and most western culture languages )

    A - B - C - D - E
1
2
3
4
5

col: A B C D E = x5
row: 1 x5 = 1 - 5
row: 2 x5 = 6 -10
row: 3 x5 = 11-15
row: 4 x5 = 16-20
row: 5 x5 = 21-25

                                           . . . . . one picture is worth a thousand words . . . . .

The Letter/Number coordinate system used, differ from fleet to fleet.

I've seen Letters and Numbers flipped back and forth.

Some fleets just rotate the tiles based shore.

Some fleets even used the same tiles regardless of orientation.

Hell I've seen a fleet use no organization and just stuff like "2nd from the left, down 2".

Officially, the 25 tiles use the same pattern as the 25 areas. Counting upwards and to the right.

Also remember, some languages read right to left instead of left to right.
