  • Simple questions about SS and CV

Hi all, I have a couple simple questions which could lead to bettering the game

About cv's:  At present i see many more bombers in NF than ever before.  This is likely due to several different things (more fun to bomb in some cases, can have a more obvious impact on the game, and you get MUCH more xp for bombing.)

q1: Do you think that a cv whom is running fighters only gets enough xp (feel free to talk about credit gain)?

moving on

I see fair numbers of people playing SS these days.  I'd say the numbers have gone down in the past few months.  The numbers of ASW ships are VASTLY lower than they have been in the past.  I'd like to see both of these changes become reversed.

q2:  Do you think that SS (regardless of tier) get xp that is reflective of the damage they do?

Q1: No, wont get enough.

Q2: SS get enough. Some ships, acc. to nation,  get the same or less exp due the damage that deal. At same LVL UK gets more EXP than KM in BB.

IMO, SS are pointless and anoying due the lack os ASW ships.

I played my FW cv lately, and I can't say that exp was low (well ok, the event...). FW gets tons of shared exp, and I found the fact that I kill lots of enemy aircraft or not has only quite a small impact on the exp.

Does a BW cv really get so much more exp (I doubt that)? If anybody has examples...

Q1: No. CV's with Fighters only (or TB's) get less exp per game than CV's with DB's. DB's give you earned exp. Bomb higher tier ships and get more exp. Fighters and TB's give shared exp. Winning and a high team attack boost shared exp.

Q2: No. SS exp should be boosted. In an SS, a win with 130K attack and a BB6 kill may not get you 18K exp.

Higher tier SS exp should be based on personal dmg, like BBs have.
As here was mentioned, your SS5.5 may have the highest dmg in the team, you may kill all the BB5-6, but your exp won't differ a lot if you sink some minor ships.

As well exp for sinking SS should be increased, but keeping balanced KM SS in order to prevent huge KM SS spread as the easiest antiSS ships.

Q1 the exp for just running DB shud be lowerd so people will use fighters

perhaps giving sone sort of bonus for shooting down enemy fighters

but the DB/TD is more fun to do than trying to provite sight wil low lvl fighters and u will still have bb that say the cv fail

Q2 i feel strongly that an ss shud get more exp for a 150 to 200k attack game u get 20ish k exp is just to low

also all subs shud get exp for what they have done ingame no more shared exp

as for asw do to the hh registering as torpedo hitts u will set the same low exp this needs a boost to and perhaps new ships that can hold higher lvl crews

Exp needs a redesign in a lot of issues, gamemodes and shiptypes. I sent them tickets but they do nothing. It would be a nice, refreshing and useful project for the dead test team to work on it.

Q1= Depends on what you mean with "enough", but the fact is by bombing you get much more.

Q2=Not at all, you can make extraordinary battles with huge amounts of attack and the exp is not high. Apart from that, they can't play WaW.

How much xp for a team win vs a loss? If u dbw/tbw and get ftr camped and loose the Team match how much xp? I dont care how ppl try to justify running those set ups but from what I seen they loose far more xp to loss of a match then what they would have gotten playing as a team.

^ This, with highly polished brass knobs on. That probably needs to be hammered into quite a few thick, steel-reinforced skulls...

1.  It depends on what you are comparing it with.  DB'ing gives a lot more exp.  However, the shared exp of Fighters is not bad.  I usually play a balanced CV with 3-5 fighters and 5-3 dive bombers.  The fighters give good exp even in a game that I have unsuccessful DB'ing of high level BB: 20-30k exp with a win and low attack (<10 k attack).  With successful DB'ing such as >100k attack on high level BB, exp gain increases to around 80k exp.  With the event and 2x first win bonus, I have had 300k-400k exp.

BW CV does give good exp, but if all CV in the team are BW CV with no fighters and the other team are FW CV or balanced CV that know how to camp those CV with fighters effectively, the BW CV is doomed.

2.  No, ss and ASW do not give much exp.  As pointed out in one of the posts above, with >100k attack on high level BB, ss only gives 20-30k exp.  ASW is good exp for leveling low level crew with constant output of around 5-10k exp and it does not matter how many ss you have damaged or sunk.  When I play ASW, it is only for fun and win, mainly not for exp (when I am leveling my low level crew).  Some ss players level their crew on CV and BB as ss leveling is so slow--I would say around 4-5 times slower.

3.  We should also ask the question of exp and credit gain in AA'ing.  AA gives good exp and credits and can match those of FW CV.  Is it too much?  I would rather play AA to level my crew than CV that always receive blame from BB for not giving sights and protection.  The expectation of AA ships from the team is low, and it gives good exp and credits and is fun to play.
