I can't wait for the new ss5. But I'm just wondering if it's going to have the 12 inch gun on it. It use to carry 50 shells. Uk needs an advantage in subs and this would be pretty cool. It could fire having just the barrel out of the water but would have to come up to reload and would take 3 min. Hope they bring it out like this.

I think the 12" gun is totally useless unless it can fire underwater and because of the only 4 front torp tubes, it would be the worst ss5.

Well it was designed as a merchant raider so i think it could pack a punch against a damaged bb or a cv undefended.
I think it could work quiet well. It could still be submerged when it fires because the gun would be exposed above the water and the sub would become visible for the next 10 sec.
It would still have to surface to reload tho.
