  • Forum "Ignore Feature"

This decent forum suggestion, would be really welcomed to ignore certain users who comes with a purpose to create flames in the forums or certain threads. The Thing is, many forums-reports wont be needed if this idea is implemented. In fact, TNF has been busy with other in game-reports, why adding more unncesary report to that long list? When you can " 1 click away " from ignoring all his/her posts.

The feature would be, clicking user name, then click ignore. There will be a small window confirmation if you really want to ignore that user, then click yes.

I heard there is a way to do that on the internet, but why risking your computer when you can recommend and get this idea implemented, and nobody has to risk their computers security.

Two small little issues

-> 12. 24. 2011
-> not enough votes to make it happen. ( In fact, from what i know. resurrecting old threads is not permited ( not sure how true this can be ) but its has been a while, since someone posted in your discussion.

Perhaps;

it seems your suggesting doesn't provide enough PRO's in favor of TNF to reduce time, eh? =) Good try, to point it out. Better try better tomorrow.

Nope, forum rules state to bump the existing topic and add your updated feedback. Duplicate threads in this section are against forum rules.

Second, the whole idea to a forum is open communication and debate between various individuals with similar and opposing viewpoints. This very suggestion goes against the core fundamentals on how a forum operates.

Except, that thoses who abuses the privilege of freedom of speech with abusive and distort comments, which is not longer a debate. So basically you are saying blocking a troll and a flamer goes against the core fundamentals on how a forum operates? interesting.

A debate should consist of:

* Solid evidences that involves
- Documents that states the point, the reason, facts and proofs
- Legit videos that proves otherwise
* Official Notes
-Legit and valid

Not in comments based in ideas or opinions and sometimes it can lead to rumor mills.

Ideas and opinions are information that can be debated.

We'd be no where as a society if the Ancient Greeks didn't have the open forums centuries ago debating the very thing you think is not part of a debate. These are the very founding principles on which democracy is based on. The debate of facts, opinions, theories and ideals.

It is impossible to have a debate of facts without the other three and vice versa.

RADB

I'd like an ignore button. Specially to use when people start a pointless playground-like fight in a thread I was interested about.

No, forum rules state to bump existing suggestions and not to spam the forum with new threads based on old ideas. Please understand this.

Oh well, that's new to me. Back in the days, ressurecting old topics were not allowed.

Suggestion forums has always been different. The necro'ing issue was when people would bump a post then delete their post to troll.
