That's face it. There hasn't been new players for years so I can safely assume everyone here is veterans. Most of us already drive BB5s, if not already BB6s. And many of us have experienced gameplay in BB, CV, AA, and subs. My question is: why play this game for the sake of grinding XP?
Can we not play this game for fun?
Remember back in the Counter-stike days, people play online for excitement of the moment? When you survive the rush to bombsite you breath a sigh of relief. When you defuse the ticking bomb, your heart skips a beat upon hearing gunshots. And you feel like winning the lottery when you unexpectedly frag a guy through the wall. See, you got to enjoy all that without the pressure of making "progress". There is no EXP to take with you after you exit the game. You know the game will start anew next time you log in.
So why burden yourself with thoughts of grinding/bargaining/classing sailors while lying in bed? You may have to worry about those if you are "working" toward BB56 or level 100/115 fighters. But many of us have already got there! What more do you desire?
Have you fall under the curse of greed (or if you prefer flattery, the principle of Kaizan).
Why can't we have fun with this game? Playing shouldn't feel like working. Why do we just want more and more and more of the stuff that we are familiar with? Is it because we have spent so many hours in this game we have to find justification for those hours wasted?
Greed is a deadly sin.
