From what I understand, all abilities are capped. So a 15/10 acc gunner is actually pretty awful since he does not get the reload points he needs and will only reach his acc faster.

Or am I missing something obvious here.

Most abilities are capped, but not all. The one that comes to mind is engineers' OH time where, quite simply, "more is better".

Well, if super elite acc gunners have 15 acc and 10 rel bases (is that really the case?), I'd agree with your statement (apart from the possibility of classing them UK reload gunners). "Normal" elite gunners (13/11) in that case are better than those. Super elite reload gunners are well worth it (if they have bases of 10 acc / 15 rel?). To top it off, they also have base 10 repair, which is nice.

Hypothetically, if I buy the Acc + Reload gunner, and then actually train the Acc gunners up as reload gunners I would still have good stat grow?

Only if you're referring to UK (and US in the case of rel-rel-rel classing), yes. Other nations don't give you that choice.

Super elite acc gunners might be a choice for Italian main gunners, too, come to think of it.

(I don't play Italy, so no idea whether their acc growth is insufficient. I know that they have stonking reload growth)

All in all, I'd say super elite gunners are not that attractive compared to hero ones. In the current event you even get 2 heroes for one super elite, and an amazing 4 for one single super elite gunner.

Hold on, I get 2 hero sailors for one elite? I am probably missing the obvious event but how does that work?

You need to be logged in to be able to see it. Event runs until 12 May.

You earn coins, and 75 of those get you a hero sailor (all stats +14), 150 coins a super elite sailor (any except gunners), and 300 coins a super elite gunner (acc or rel).

Never mind me I am stupid.

What actually bugs me - super elites are also worthless for fighters and bombers, are they? Since the aircraft stat is completely missing?

Quite on the contrary - especially for fighters they are not worthless at all. I'd say a super elite fighter is actually the best use of a +15 stat.

+15 base is better than +14 base for fighter ability, simple as that. Obviously, there is no second pilot skill that would benefit from stats, other than a little repair/restore (which is a skill common to all sailors).

For all fighters and bombers, aircraft stat is not activated - apparently, this is always worthwhile repeating, as five years after the patch, not too many people seem to know this.

As an info for everyone:
Acc and Reload gunners actually have 15/12 and 12/15 respectively.

I would have chosen Super Elite Repairs as gunners. +10 reaches cap too..

That's why these packs for 1050 olives - 50$! - are not that good a deal.

For me personally, the best gunners are, apart from heroes, 10acc/10rel with 12 repair for all nations except UK, and 12acc/10rel with 10 or 11 repair for UK (classed reload gunners).
