MIKIEBOY666

For those considering upgrading to windows 10, I have personaly tried every build up to and including build 10130, although it is working on all versions, I have found that build 10122 and 10130 are the only ones which play navyfield without any issues.

Issues I have come accross are, in game graphics lag (not server lag), screen freeze, lock up on win result screen, constant reloading of graphics in game rooms and various others.

I hope this helps others considering the change as I have spent nearly two weeks trying this.

So in conclusion my system works best with windows 10 build 10130, if anyone else has tried windows 10 please let us know your results.

Hi Mike,

tks for the start of this post.

Please post exactly the settings you have attempted with Windows10.

For Example...

Did you turn off your AV scanner on the SDE folder?

Did you turn off databit tracking on the sde folder in win10?

Did you optimise for 8/16 bit application running in 32bit Thunk on 64 bit win10?

Did you run it with any windows 10 compatibility modes and what privileges?

What video settings did you use?

What network settings did you use, did you turn off ipv6 and optimise the tcp ipv4 stack?

Etc...

cheers

I didnt turn off any scanning options, tracking options or optimise it.  I was running stock from start each build I did.  This was the easiest options as this is what most players would be doing.

I was having screen freeze and graphics lag with every build up until version 10122 (again remember I am tweaking nothing, running from a clean build on a reformated SSD drive with nothing but windows and nf installed), Once I got a stable response from NF, I then started tweaking but again I was still getting in game graphics glitches and what would appear to be lag but I know it wasnt as I was also running windows 7 on my laptop with my alt account and no issues there.

At this point I was getting frustrated and annoyed, then build 130 came out and I installed that again, clean reformatted SSD  drive no tweaking and NF ran perfectly didnt need to change anything.  Only thing I have done since is add exception to firewall, but wasnt required (I just prefer it).

I am using a GTX970 with windows 10 drivers for video card, windows 10 pro build 130.

Hi Mike and UK Easy.

I don't suppose you know what build the free download is, as I am thinking of upgrading from Win8.1.

Shame they don't do a free downgrade to Win7

They do its called the Microsoft Downgrade Right check your win 8.1 license and this link.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Licensing/learn-more/brief-downgrade-rights.aspx

If you have the correct MS License you even can downgrade to Win95

Cheers,
