  • Can Not Load File: YF Data----This is BS!!!

I uninstalled NF, deleted the SD Enternet Folder and then downloaded the newest game client. After downloading it, I installed it and then pressed "play game" NF loads and then goes to  a black screen. The following appears and I had to kill the NF process with Task Manager
Next, I did all the steps in the thread "Data File Corruption Fix **v1.326 files*... "

The same thing happens. I don't know what else is there to do to get this  game working. I'm using a laptop with:
 Windows 7 32 bit,
 2 GB of Ram
1.60GHZ Intel Atom processor

Just wondering here but have you in any way altered the YF.Data file or delete/moved it from your NF Folder? Just asking because the YF.Data file hasn't got anything to do with this "Data File Corruption" issue everyone else has. It's the actual in-game filter and if removed, you could swear like a mad man.

No, I havent touched or deleted any files from NF since I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I just click play game thats it.

Delete the YF.data file and relaunch the game and it should re-download it

I did that, re-downloaded it, but NF still canNOT load the file.

I finally got the stupid "Can Not Load File: YF Data" message fixed. To fix it, I uninstalled NF. Manually removed all entries of NFand SDEnternet before attempting to reinstall. I did all of the below to remove the registries:


1. Click on Start and select “Run” (located immediately right once you click Start)
2. Type in “regedit” and press enter
3. The registry editor opens
4. Expand the branch titled “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
5. Expand the branch titled “SOFTWARE”
6. Delete any SDEnterNet or NavyField folders
7. Close the registry editor and restart your PC
8. Reinstall using the latest full client available on our homepage link.

When NF finished installing, a shortcut is created on desktop. To start up NF without the "Can Not Load YF Data" message, just click on that shortcut....NOTHING ELSE.

This leads to another new problem....the BLACK SCREEN.

When I start up NF, all I see is a black screen, nothing else. It gets to the login page but I don't see it. All you hear is music playing. What do you do now???

As of now I am not sure if there is a workaround for the resolution that is the issue. 1024x768 is the required resolution and most netbooks are lower than that.
