  • Suggestions/Improvements for server

Hi guys just interested in some of your suggestions to improve the server in the future. Had a few ideas myself. Blitz to have more exp than gb and small item drops. This will help more blitz rooms to be open more often and allow the new players to have more fun and more of a chance of them stay playing nf. I can imagine most new players soon get bored of being farmed in gb and stop playing. Reduce the premium time in blitz to 3-4 minutes, most games on blitz atm only consist of 10-18 players on hobbit map and the battle is over extremely quick, I'm pretty sure most people only play gb as more exp as well as being able to get premium that they are paying for. A remastered version, do I need to say any more the graphics in battle are abysmal even 720p would be good but 1080p even better, sure this would appeal to most players. More exp on weekends/bank holidays/ 1 hour on certain evenings to try get the server busy again. Be able to spend medals on any item which can be bought with olives. Will give the free playing players more of an incentive to keep grinding out the levels. Different gameplay/maps. Just a general idea, maybe protect the flagship and when destroyer lose battle, capture flag that in centre of map return to base, defend the line from other team attacking, deathmatch all v all with around 10 players per game, destroy enemy base, protect the teams convoy from picking up goods? A battle room for levels 60 - 90 to help have more of a level playing ground. A server online count to see how many people are online at the present time. A moderator in a room in certain area wether it be afk, just somewhere where players can quickly go and type a question to a moderator instead of having to send a ticket and mod can reply when back online? Would be interested to see some of your ideas too guys and have a happy weekend!

The other opinions are good but the first thing to do is solve the problem of LAG AND CRASH ..... and believe that many people will return

Finished analysis of server move.

Game Server has moved from a Amazon AWS instance to a Microsoft Azure instance.
The Microsoft Azure instance is a low level capacity Server more details are limited by a MS NDA. However there is some clunky routing in place that is causing issues.

Login Server is still located in South Korea.
Update server Hosts ( yeap 2) are located in South Korea.
Update Server DNS record points to both servers however only one appears to be working.
If you connect via the 2nd non operational server the update process fails and your installation becomes corrupt. Tested by forcing update to 2nd server.
I suspect that both servers are not on the same update code.
The Login server has some timeout issues.

Recommendations:
They need to improve the connections, fix the dns, fix the images on the update server and/ or move the login and update servers to be hosted with the game server on the same network provider.
The server needs to be uplifted to a more capable Azure instance.
Remove the clunky routing and fix the BGP routes you still have this is one of the causes of the TCP sync issues and dropped packets. Lag/drops etc.

Thank you for looking into that. I actually reccomended your post to the GM for review to see how this could be done. I know I appreciate your time looking into the servers! Thank you!

Thank you Mfischer. We will definitely seek for ways to improve our server and hope the global players are able to play without lag issue.
