  • Critical Error: Cannot Find Application Exe File

first i open my launcher then "current version is different from game server"..
i close my navyfield, restart  my PC then "cannot find application .exe"..
i uninstalled my game,download and installed again...
at first it was smooth running my game for about an hour..
but the time when i feel my game was laggy while in battle for about 3 games and then
my game crashed..and when i open again navyfield laucher it says
"cannot find application exe"..SIGH!!!

...this is one of the reasons why i stopped playing navyfield for about 5-6 years ago with my first account..i hope i can open again my game.. tired of installing and uninstalling navyfield..
and i stopped to purchase/buy olives in store even tho i really need the stuff in store and help this game continuing more by buying items.i only want to show how i feel about this issue. i hope this will be solved..and played navyfield conveniently..thanks

That post wasn't quite accurate though. I'd re-check things because big name antiviruses are also detecting things, and in my case, even blocking the update as it's being applied.

i followed the steps...
and this what happened a couple of times after ....so i'm thinking that restarting my PC  can somehow fix the problem but the patch/client that i newly downloaded was missing or gone after i restart my PC. what!! (i heard cricket sounds)..lol

i followed the steps...
and this what happened a couple of times after ....so i'm thinking that restarting my PC  can somehow fix the problem but the patch/client that i newly downloaded was missing or gone after i restart my PC. what!! (i heard cricket sounds)..lol


same thing happened.....when will I  be back to play?..i'm sitting here for 2 hours looking/searching to resolve this problem!

It is Setting off Norton and its Not easy to get the exclusions into Norton.......

I had my problems too. It seems the AntiVirus takes the last update as dangerous.

What i did was:

1)_ A fresh install of NF.
2)_ Disabled the AntiVirus.
3)_ Open the game till was updated.
4)_ Listed NF, NF launcher and ENFUS (EXEs) into executables exclusion list.
5)_ Added the whole NF folder into excluded areas.
6)_ Enable the AntiVirus again.
7)_ Enjoy my beloved NF again.

Hopes this little steps can help you too guys.

PS: If you don't follow this easy steps, the AntiVirus will chop down the update at half and/or delete your NF executable, since he think is running some dangerous program.

Norton or at least my version of Norton will not allow Folders to the exlusion list. You have to enter one item at a time.

How many people dont have the expertise to do this or follow an instruction set like these posted.

Then I am sure people will run their PCs with out AV and that is so dangerous today.

I had to add a lot of single items. The problem here is Nortons exclusion list will ONLY allow one FILE extension at a time. No folders. Just one item at a time. One item at a time.......

Another SDE fail. Why do they have to do this. I am sure their reasons are justified but this is gonna kill the player base again.

As I stated above. How many people are at a decent PC tech level to do this ? It took me three attempts to get this to work. 

I had to do the exclusions numerous times. Then manually download the patch. Run the manual patch. Accept that the files were Trustworthy through Norton as it STILL was blocking something. Are they trustworthy ??????? Then I had to run the Efuns game updater (NF Launcher) to load the most recent game patch. Start the game and it finally worked.

1 Hour of my life wasted.......

Which anti-virus/firewall you using?  


I am using Avast..any suggestions what's the best anti virus cuz i'm choosing between AVIRA and AVAST..thanks

Galashi: Maybe you take me wrong buddy. I was just sharing my own experience trying to help others. That wasn't any kind of official procedure or guide. I keep the idea of sharing solutions, and not just complainings. Unfortunately i don't have any clue about Norton AV, so i can't help you (anyway, the folder exclusion was just an extra i made).

Willow: Hey, i use Avast from some 10+ years. IMHO it's a good one.
