  • New player guide

Surprisingly over the last 2 weeks I've seen an influx of new players. Insignificant for other games, but for navyfield its a rare sight. Several of these players have asked either on the forums or in game as to specific game mechanics etc. I've personally interacted with two such players who've expressed their dismay at the lack of a clear manual or set of instructions for getting started in NF and who have also run into contradictory and misleading forum posts.

Many of the current pinned guide's are missing new information relavent to the current game as well as specifics such as sailor abilities and theoretical crew composition. With the intergration of NF into the Steam platform; I believe it would be appreciated by not only new players but veterans of the game if there were a clear, well labled and easy to access guide for the core mechanics of the game.

Well I am not exactly a new player but returning after several years, definitely would not mind having some up to date info.
Speaking of which, what client should I be downloading? Full client or the windows 7 support one? I am on windows 10.

Also I remember the game used to crash quite a lot, to the point where matches would be determined by how many people crashed, has that been improved?

Crashes have not been fixed at all. In fact they are worse than ever.
As much as certain staff will tell you it's being fixed.
There has been zero communication on progress of fixing the game.
Releasing to Steam will fail so hard but no one listens. Can you imagine setting a date for release on steam and yet the game is more broken than it ever has been?
Trade system was removed.... because there was no fix.
All bandaid solutions with no real fix in store.
Time to start being honest with your players.
For some reason people are still paying into this game. Not sure why when nothing works as intended.
This is not bashing vuur. This is me being honest with my feelings about the game and should not be taken personally.

Silamon I would say come back and check it out. You may hang around.
Along with crashes and desyncs you'll notice there are not all that many players left. More and more come back but with all the problems more and more leave.

Cheers,
Austinpage

Well that certainly doesnt sound very promising, doesnt help that my account apparently got reset. I might try playing it again later but I doubt I will spend any money on it if what you say is true.

If a new guide would happen, may I request a section for the 'complete newbies'?

At least the UK ship guide I'm following right now(from 2011, which is newer than 2006 ones), seems to assume everyone has a set of B/V/E crews. It suggests 55-70 degree HAing in the emerald, but I wasn't ware of that and was so struggled with the spread and would be lucky to get 3k attack in a blitz game(manualFCS).Only later I've been told that HA shooting is for high level, and I should be rushing instead, which I've gotten way better attack since.

There's no way a beginner would have that kind of good accuracy without paying real currency in that stage, and I doubt the steam players would initially pay that amount of money to a game they're totally not familiar with.

There's still a bunch of us hanging on. Hoping.
And there is still fun to be had. So come back a while and see what you think for yourself.

Yeah I don't think I will be coming back to this game, just had another ticket closed with only a generic response.....

1. Upload your government issued identification document
No way was I about to provide this to some korean company for a game.... There is no reason I should need to provide this for an account issue, maybe if it had something to do with billing....

2. Last time you login to game
Was definitely several years ago, 2011ish? maybe 2012 at the latest
3. Crew/ships you remember you had
I had a mostly bve british crew up to lion 1, I had purchased a Dunkerque premium battleship, I am fairly sure I had an ebb bismarck, I know I had a Gneisenau as well and some american ships, prolly around the guam or so
4. Other accounts you have (It is permitted to have multiple accounts now but you still need to provide the list)

I only ever had one account.

The response I got was

Dear Silamon

If you want to restore your account, please provide the information stated in the below link

http://navyfield.com/Community/Forum/View.aspx?num=27458&pagecount=0&page1=1&searchtype=0&category=C01&searchvalue=&sort=5

Thanks

Well gee.... I mean I clearly already knew about that link because the info I posted was in the same format.... and they closed the ticket with that so if I want to try again I have to wait several more days for someone to look at it?

No thanks.
