  • Why is SDE asking for personal identifying information?

So maybe the player base can help me out here. I was trying to restore my account. I sent in the information required besides a picture of my ID card. I have never registered said ID with SDE at any time so how would they know it was me? Why do they all of a sudden need an ID card? I asked and the response was "Go to this post and send this information". Not trying to make a fuss but this is how people get their identity stolen so I'm going to need a good answer before I continue.

By post I meant the "Returning players" post. I'm still concerned why they would need my ID.

Its actually only legal for certified copy of identification papers to be given to authorised agencies.

SDEnternet / Naiad Games are not reconised by US law as a authorised agency.

I would recommend that you immediatley report this activity and send the the details of the request to your local authorities they will take action.

Facebook tried this in 2013 and got slapped by the DOJ.
