As several other posts have revealed, severe latency has been hardly acceptable for East Asia players since the server was moved to east coast, and I realize that there are much unnecessary and irrelevant confrontation happening in those posts, which does not help to improve the gaming experience of the NF community at all.

This post, therefore, quantitatively summarizes the latency measured by my fellow Chinese teammates, so that players from other regions can understand why are we asking for a server relocation to West Coast (where latency is still an issue, but an acceptable one).

11 of my teammates tested their latency with both the websites provided by GM. The average latency tested by gcping and cloudping were 266/351ms , with standard deviation of 30/55ms and 95% confidence interval of 247 to 284/318 to 383ms, respectively. A large systematic difference of 85ms was observed between these two tests, indicating that at least one of them is inaccurate. To validate the results, we also directly trace the latency with router (I personally don?t know much about the procedure, but we can provide additional evidence if anyone is interested), and the resultant average latency was 349ms, with a standard deviation of 40ms and a 95% confidence interval of 316 to 381m: A result pretty close to that measured by cloudping, indicating that the latency experienced by Chinese players is most likely around 350ms, with accelerator on.

Compare to the west coast latency of 150-200ms that Chinese players used to deal with, the recently worsened network condition really make them reconsider other available NF servers. That being said, I?m fully aware that this is NF North America. Nevertheless, it is not at all unreasonable for a server to serve its players with at least acceptable gaming environment. When my teammates chose to stay in NFNA years or months ago, they were not consented with a latency of 350ms. Being a part of the NF community and after paying additional costs for accelerator, we sincerely wish that our voice matters, that NFNA will reconsider the decision of moving the server to the east coast.

I also informed my teammates about this post, and many of them agreed that we need to let the community understand the broad influence of this severe latency, they will therefore sign their IDs in this post instead of posting new topics, so that the discussion board remains manageable.
