Everytime i change the compatibility mode the game gives me a message saying it's running in compatibility mode and will now shut the game down.
It also resets the compatibility settings i have on the navyfield.exe
It even resets the "run as administrator" and "disable visual themes"
I'm trying to run it in compatibility for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

Hackshield supposedly prevents compatibility mode intentionally.

Although... I'm running it in Win98/ME compatibility mode on my Vista 64 Ultimate system and that seems to work just fine. I have UAC disabled, for what it's worth.


By the way, are you trying to set these properties on the application itself, or the shortcut? I have it set on a shortcut, I believe.

I'm not sure if i have my UAC disabled and not sure if that will do any good.
I set the shortcut (navyfield launcher) and all other applications (ENFUS updater and navyfield.exe) to the same compatibility.
From what i've seen on the forums, changing compatibility mode for vista, shouldn't be a problem.
Infact it's recommended for vista users to change their compatibility to Windows XP.
By the way my OS is Vista 32 Basic.

Disabling the UAC didn't do anything.
I still can't run the game in compatibility mode.
Again, i don't understand why i can't run navyfield in compatibility mode on my OS (Vista 32 Basic).
I've searched the forums and i have not spotted any potential fixes for this problem.
And again, from what i've gathered, vista users are recommended to run navyfield in the compatibility mode of Windows XP.

step two set compatibility to win 98 on navyfield exe, navyfield launcher, and the updater.
step three disable visual themes
step four run game.
the next steps are optional but I cant discredit them.
step five open up your system and chose advance options
step 6 under performance select dep and add in those same three applications you set the compatibility for.
step 7 while still under performance set visual effects to performance. and apply....
step 8 start game....

I'll repeat myself, BBR_InsUW.
I CANNOT run the game in compatibility mode.
I've tried the fix, you posted, already.
When i run navyfield after changing the compatibility it gives me a message saying that navyfield is running in compatibility mode and will now close.
after that, when i view my compatibility settings, i find that they have been reset.
also, i find that "run as administrator" and "disable visual themes" have been unchecked aswell.

You had mentioned compatibility as Win XP and I was suggesting Win 98, sorry I wasnt understanding you

Can you confirm that you are able to run other games in compatibility mode?

Now this is something I would also like an answer to.

How do you run compatibility mode on the Navyfield.exe if the hackshield program prevents it?

What is the way around it?

Yes, I can.
I play a lot of older games and have them all set to their appropriate compatibility modes.
