I keep losing about 20 minutes a day of game time due to crashes.

Roughly once a day, NF crashes with a C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION, though not always in the same spot (mostly either in AllocScreen or Scanf... are these buffer overruns?). Only seems to happen after a GB is nearly over, which makes it frustrating.

For the sake of completeness, here's my system info and the last few crashes:

Desktop PC, game is in drive B (C is the active Vista partition). Running in Win 98/ME compatibility mode. As best as I can recall, I installed 1.324 fresh and then patched to current.

BBR I got the same issue here. Within the last few days I got a increased lag and way more crashes than usual.

I haven't done anything on my computer. No updating and no new programs and hardware.. Haven't used it for anything else than NF.

Actually those aren't quite the same. Some of our crashes overlap, yes, but you're seeing a lot of crashes at "CxImage::`copy constructor closure'" which I don't have, and you don't have any in "CxIOFile::Scanf", which is where many of mine are.

Plus, lag has nothing to do with my issue. You didn't post your PC specs, but depending what you mean by "lag" it might be a system resources issue. All I can say for sure is I don't have any framerate drops nor network latency problems associated with my crashes.



Edit: since I'm bumping this thread anyways, worth noting that I haven't had any more crashes since I created this thread.

im getting the same error Invinciblor posted in his error report post, im also not having fps or latency issues only this access violation error. It always happens toward the middle or end of a great battle.

That's probably because your call stack has more than one line. Not sure why most peoples' call stacks only have the deepest level shown, it's not as if Scanf was the actual base of the call hierarchy.
