it feels good to see it on paper, i can't wait to see these subs in game fighting each other.
everyone seems to have a strength
US with tubes
UK,IJN,and MN get planes(good for when you need to scout ahead)
KM doesnt really get much sence proxy-torps are enough.

Subs with planes? 800 aircraft space and 3 take off at a time? ...........Well then I think the allied fleet BBs should get a squad DD tanks to deploy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DD_tank), and the KM CVs should get V2 Rockets.

Considering the extra slots are not dedicated pilot slots this might allow for some hefty OH time on the ijn and uk ones if they decide to ignore the plane option (and considering not every sub driver will have pilots anyway this seems quite likely to happen).

as i though, IJN sub will be worst... why? guys wount use it's plane carrying abilities.
only 6 forward torpedo tubes, although biggest torpedo load (52) of all SS5s.
8x 77lvl torpedo planes (800 aircraft space, 100 per plane...), 3 planes launch at once.
worst turning force (17), but 7 support slots + 1 R slot = underwater BB :)
play style? planes will be useless, so:
1) 5 engies, 1 rep (on R slot), sonarman, planesman
2) 4 engies, 2 reps (1 on R slot), sonarman, planesman
3) 3 engies, 3 reps (1 on R slot), sonarman, planesman

option 1) loooooooooooong OH time
option 2) a bit shorter OH time, but faster repairing
option 3) the same OH time as on IJN SS4, but very nice repair rate

i wonder how much armor it can carry without loosing 40knots mark.

oh damn, KM SS5 has 5 support slots = can have 3 engies on board = no longer any sub can get away...
why in the hell MN surcouf has 6 frontal tubes? BS!!! it had 4... OP!

but in NFNA we'll have tottaly different stats, since all submarines will be rebalanced
