  • Wrong File Installed. Please Reinstall Program

So, just starting today I tried to log on and I get passed the patch screen, but as soon I the game goes
full screen, I get the error message "Wrong File Installed.  Please Reinstall Program."  I've reinstalled the
game about 8 times now and redownloaded the entire game a few times too to make sure the installer wasn't
corrupted, but I've only had this problem since today and it just doesn't seem to want to work. 

I'm on a Gateway laptop with an Intel Core i3-350M processor running at 2.27 GHz with 4 gb's of ram and a 500 gb
hard drive.  It's rather frustrating to not even be able to get into the game and I've tried deleting everything in my registry
and downloading the patch as well as the data files separately and nothing seems to work.  Some help would definitely
be appreciated.

I would get the older version and install and patch up from there

Version 1.319 or 1.320 are the winners

Tried it, still doesn't work and I did notice the same thing with my antivirus program blocking the same trojan when it's installing.

Since 5 AM EST this morning....

none of these work..... Trojan file in 1327 patch both CA detect and Malware

So now what?.....

Also with 1327 there is a virus "boaxxe" or something it shows as a trojan in both game file and patch, even on reloading on 1320/19 and manual patch it still shows, Ive tried multiple times to reinstall differnt ways but still get a "wrong file installed. please reinstall." msg upon launching the game.

If you are encountering trojan/virus alerts... quarantine/delete the files ASAP.

My suggestion, download and install the most current version of NF from this site. Be sure you have first deleted/removed all folders/registry entries beforehand.

If you still have problems, run an MD5 Check as stated in the following thread:

I downloaded from NF site 1327 and erased all files as instructed and cut my online connection, when installing i still received trojan "Win32/Boaxxe.B!generic" I ran a scan on file and it seem to be embeded in it.

Downloaded the installer and scanned it with 2 different antivirus programs. No problems with it. Refer to the following links regarding this trojan. I'd recommend running your antivirus program and complete a full scan.

Key thing from the following site I want to point out:

"Trojan:Win32/Boaxxe.B is a Trojan that installs itself as a Browser Helper Object and may contact remote sites related to rogue anti-spyware applications."

The trojan is embedded in 1327:
It will be picked up by Malware and CA
resolution: (If you want to play NF)
Clean system of all previous versions
shut off firewall
disable firewall
download 1320 client from somewhere(SDE NEEDS TO MAKE AVAILABLE OLDER VERSIONS WHEN THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT THEY ARE RELEASING WHICH IS OFTEN)
download patch 1327 from NF
enable firewall
enable antivirus
SCAN=================
Run installs
and PRAY!!!!!
