A "parsing error" typically means that there's a syntax error in the coding somewhere (specifically whatever this VC.sdt file is). VC.sdt is not a file that is located on the client, so I'd assume this is something the ENFUNS is downloading when you open it. First thing I'd suggest is to make sure that if you have any sort of firewall, either disable it or enable port fowarding for NavyFIELD and ENFUNS (the updater).
Navyfield uses 16671 and 8060 (Both TCP)
