ventrilo is a means to talk to each other on nf, but it gets quite lonely when only the mods and only a few other vets use  it

 assuming you want to use it (it is fun). here is what you gotta do.

prerequisites:
a microphone, computer with either mac or windows on it

1) look up ventrilo in google, and select first option
2) on the website go to downloads page



3) Download the client programme, according to your operating system (you can check if your computer is 32 or 64 bit by going to control panel -> system and securtiy-> system. On that page their should be a subheading with system type
4) Install and run programme (I have 64 bit computer)
5) click on the arrow by the right of the user name box and put in your nf username,  (as shown by the blue circle) (so we can see who you are). senior mods can set up pwords on it for you later XD

6) click on the arrow by server (as shown by the red circle)
7) set the IP adress to 64.15.129.180, and the port to 5771, and press ok

8) connect by pressing the connect button
9) go to setup

10) The hotkey starts off as left control. this is a bad idea as left control is also the button for  TDA in game. therefore changing to left alt is a good idea
11) Join the appropriate subchannel (tnf helpdesk, kaiser server ect.)
12) Have fun
