**CURRENT FOR NF v1.329**

This thread will consolidate all of my fixes/diagnostics into a single one, make it much easier for players to diagnose and fix their problems.
It is important that you READ posts thoroughly and carefully.  Skipping through any steps may cause even more problems, or for the fix to be ineffective altogether.

TL;DR: Read the ENTIRE post!  If you don't wanna read, then there's no use trying to help you!

If you have any type of file problem (corrupted/missing/etc), do the following diagnostic.  It will help determine the cause of the problem.

MD5 Hash Check:
This is a diagnostic tool!  This alone will not fix any problems you have with NF.

The steps below are to perform an 'MD5 hash' check on your NF game files (specifically .data/.dll files & SPR/SOUND/MISSION/MAP folders).  The MD5 check file is based off of my working NF client files.  The idea is to compare the 'hash' of my working files to the 'hash' of your (corrupt)
files, thus determining which file is different from mine.  Then you can try replacing that file.

1. Download md5summer and the checksum file and run the program.  Choose whichever file type you feel most comfortable with (.rar or .exe)
Be sure to install/extract to your NF Directory (C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)

OR

(MD5 Hash: 51f08115cbd3faa41e873ae47cc827f2  *NavyFieldFileCheck1329.exe)
(MD5 Hash: cde33b6bd7ad1f1c71dc8e2ef885580f  *NavyFieldFileCheck1329.rar)

2. You will be prompted to associate .md5 files with the program, select YES.
3.  Navigate to your NavyFIELD directory, select Verify Sums, select the MD5 checksum file (NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5).
4. The check will run and any files that do NOT match the hash check will show up as red (error).

Note the path and file name of any errors and determine which of the following fixes you need to perform.

To remove this program, simply navigate to your NF directory and delete
 -md5summer.exe
 -NavyFIELDCheckv1329.md5

The next time the files are updated, is it possible to get an upload of the sprites in an archive like .7z, .gz, .zip, .rar, etc, please? If people are doing manual fixes, unpacking a compressed file won't present a challenge.

One reason for having a manual option is to avoid downloading and running executable files, for those of us whose networks prohibit downloading EXEs through HTTP and for those of us who are obsessive about security.

I will do this for the next update. The only reason I started using .exe files with WinRAR was to simplify the process and reduce the likelihood of someone making an error doing the fix (and this did in fact turn out to be the case). You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to read ALL the directions, carefully.

I can appreciate that, and I do appreciate all the effort you've put into it.

Thanks.

Original post updated... For those of you who don't read the announcement posts.

Dear fans of Navy Field,

As the major part of our community may already know, some of our players experienced the 'data file corrupted' message after game patch, which needed a complicated (and also long) process to fix. We were very concern of this issue and worked along with our devs to solve this, and it now looks that it's finally fixed. So if you have experienced this issue recently, please try to re-launch the NF client once again to receive the proper update files. We're deeply sorry for all who have suffered of this issue.

However, you may still experience 'data file corrupted' in following cases:
1) Launcher is out of date: if you haven't connected for more than 5 versions (normally 4~5 months), the launcher may out of date and the auto-update won't work. In this case, you have to download the latest game client again from our website.
2) Broken files: if your connection is temporary unstable or if there are any other issues that causes a break in the downloaded file, your client may have a corrupted file. In this case, you can re-download the new files by re-launching the client.

** In case you see the 'ITFPDITM2.spr is corrupted' message after installing the latest client, please re-launch the game to replace the corrupted file. By this way, you should be able to launch the game properly.
(This issue is also solved now, so if you download the full client again you should be able to install NF without this issue.)

We're once again sorry for the inconvenience of this issue. If you are still experiencing troubles, please contact our support team for further help and report.

Always thanks for your great patience and support,
TeamNF

BSODs are usually caused by driver or memory issues. Turn off DEP for NF and ENFUNS and see how it works.

Did a bit more research...

If you are running a 64bit OS, it is advisable to install NF (a 32bit program) into the 32bit Program Files folder (ProgramFiles(x86))

How else... reinstall NF and manually select the 32bit Program Files folder. Create the SD EnterNET folder if necessary.
