So currently Im making a crew for monty and am wondering if any of my sailors will not reach the cap (excluding repairers). I have  4x base 11 engies that will be bve later, 3x base 12 reps that will be bve later, 1x +12 scout unboosted, unboosted +14 BO, a pair of 11/11 gunners and a pair of 10/11 gunns that are bve. I am wondering if 4engineers and 3 reps is the way to go with montana since a lot of people worry about speed oveer rep. Is the rep rate sufficient with 3 reps for montana? Can I hit the speed  cap with base 11 bve engies?

I have four +11 BVE Engies on my Monty, they will hit the speed cap sooner or later. 3 Reps is good, have an extra Rep or Eng for Nebraska (If you plan to have one).

Not pretty good with the cap calculation, but by the time you hit Monty, you should have reached it.

its pretty easy to hit the speed cap of ships.

the debate between rep rate and speed/OH time just depends on how you play. Some people depend on having long OH at the speed cap to wiggle around and try not to get hit. Some people like to have high rep rate, sacrificing a little OH time, but can take a beating.

of course, these are the two extremes. You can test different setups to see where you like to be in this balance.

You will hit the speed cap with 4 engineers but it probably won't until lvl115-120
Since they are +11 you may have to vet them a good amount in order to cap it.

With my Original USN BB crew with 1x +11, 2x +10, 1x +9 and 1x plus 12 It Speed Capped monty with bare minimum (100vts) bved @ lvls 101, 106,107, 115, 87


My 11 crew capped @ about lvl 106. You'll be fine if you keep the crew looking good.
