tipsypo
Awoke this morning, around 8:30, went to go take a leak to discover that, crap I'm trapped in my room! Using the handle wasn't moving the pin-ish part that locks into the frame. Found an screwdriver in my room and we (Brother got up and then Mum through the sound of me frantically using the handle) preceded to dismantle the handle although that turned into a dead end so tried to take the hinges bolts out middle came out alright but top and bottom were pretty stuck in. Had to consider them breaking the door down (opens inwards), they passed me some WD40 under the door in some tin foil for me to pour onto the hinges, helped just enough to free the bolts and I was free and took that leak I was requiring.

Anyone been trapped in a room like that and broken the door down or gone out the window and such.

I was in a public bathroom once where the paper towels were outside the bathroom. Washed my hands and they were wet, and the worst part of this? The handle to the door was a circle and it was soaked from
other people. Took me 10 seconds or so to figure out that i needed 2 hands...

lol, happen also from our house helper, she was trapped for 3 hours inside my sisters room (my family wasn't home :D), when we discovered it, the knob was stuck (like it was lock) but it won't budge, we have to call a lock smith and tried to unlock it but nothing and leads to dismantling, (funny thing is the screw part was inside the room) :D but we manage to pass screw drivers through the balcony and done :D

I hope you've been able to leave your room by now... it's been two days already.

Well no, but I got trapped inside a bulkhead once. Myself and two other EM's (electricians mates) were doing some high voltage work on USS Vicksburg after her launch but before her commissioning. Another work crew moved some heavy stuff where they shouldn't have and blocked the exit to our crawlspace for several hours. Our CPO waited until we were present before he chewed the other team out for it. Never seen the veins on anyone's neck stand out quite like that. =P

happened to my g/f's son once ... about 2 yrs ago ...

he was IN the bathroom showering (no one else home) when he got trapped like that (lock froze up)
he ended up putting his fist through the door (lucky it was a hollow interior door type) and then pulling the paneling off to make a homemade dutch door ... and then managed to dive out the chest level opening

i pointed out a couple things after we got back home and found out what happened ....

1 = putting a foot through the BOTTOM and crawling out woulda spared him the aerial acrobatic dive exit

and even better ...

2 = DRYWALL is a LOT cheaper and easier to repair than a door .... so go through the WALL if you can ...
.... .. ... (just be really careful to be mindful of any electrial wires that may be run inside the wall) ...
